I thought there would be more talk about the spot of the ball on that 3rd down & goal at the end. I thought it should have been on the 1 - and they spotted it on the 2.

Made a huge difference. If it's on the 1, it's almost certainly a TD, and no one is talking about dropped 2-point conversions today.

True, but if it's never been stopped why not run it twice?

I have no problem with the kick on 4th down in that circumstance.  I do have a problem with the 3rd down play call.  If you are going to run it with no pass option, just do the sneak.  You probably gain some distance, might score, worst case you just kick on 4th down as you did.  Run from the gun gives too much opportunity/time for penetration.

My head explodes when it's 2nd & 1, 3rd & 1, or 4th & 1 and the Bills don't do the Tush Push.  It's darn near automatic and they usually end up getting 2 or 3 yards on the play.  That 4th quarter drive last night where they kicked the late field goal to go up 8 is a great example.  They should have Tush Pushed and they probably are in the end zone and could have saved me the end-of-game angina.

Don't get cute... Just run the Tush Push for the love of Almighty God!!!

Same.  I don’t want to do it on 2nd and 1 though.  I’d rather take a shot at a chunk play and then tush push on 3rd and 4th

In 1 yard situations, yes. Every time. But the frustrating thing is a lot of these situations we find ourselves in are 2 or 2 plus.

3rd and Goal from just beyond the 2 is not a given we're going to get enough push. Especially at the Goal Line and with that defensive front. In hindsight do I wish we would have tried that instead of what we ran? Sure. But that's just bc we know how it went with the play they chose.

But honestly, from the spot we were at (which was a rough spot btw) - I wouldn't have called a tush push either. Though I wouldn't have called the play we went with either. I'd have went with an under center handoff with Ray Davis.

And if we did go for a Tush Push on 3rd and didn't get in - I'd still have Kicked the FG rather than going for it on 4th anyways. This was the most situational of Situational Football.. situations. Is it possible we got it on 4th and the game was over right there? Sure.

You know what else could have happened? We could have been stopped again. And if that happened - we lose the game. Plain and simple. Simply not worth the risk.

That's why you do it on 3rd down and assess.  On the first tush push in the 1st QTR, it was from the 1.5 yard line and Allen was pushed about four yards into the endzone.

It really is strange why they didnt do it there on 3rd down

When they do use that play, I don't understand why they don't have 2 300lb guys behind Josh doing the push.  If the other team knows what you're about to do why not bring in the heavyweights to do the pushing?

I love Josh doing it but other teams have started using TEs and other players for it. They don't have to risk Josh every time!

There's been some trick plays too. Maybe not a 4th down but on 2nd and 1, why not. And Josh could take the ball and run off tackle. He's  done that before in obvious "QB sneak" plays.

Also, didn't Josh get banged up right before that? I thought that they might have been protecting him at the time.

Nah. Brady said today that he wishes he had this play back.

It's been noticeable since late in the season the refs are spotting the ball about half yard back from where it appears they should.  For both teams.  I thought maybe my eyes are going bad.  I know it gets placed where the ball is when the knee is down,

I have seen so many egregiously bad spot this year it’s been mind numbing.

Personally, I’d like to see us do a 99 yard drive with nothing but tush pushes all the way down the field.

Keep that in the pocket until 4th quarter of a tight SB matchup with the Eagles.  Then do it over and over until we cross the goalline at the buzzer.  The NFL and national media will frown upon it.  We accept the Lombardi, every Bills player retires, the Bills franchise retires, and Josh drops the mic during his Super Bowl MVP acceptance speech.
