I agree with the notion that Josh is safer with the ball these days.

But I don't think he would have made that pitch 4 years ago.  Or ever.  We were winning.  Players were draped on him.  There was little if any chance of making a clean pitch.

he didn't flip it because he couldn't (without a horrible risk reward ratio) but half a second earlier or whatever if he had his arm free he woulda and i think it would be 6.

I think the only purpose of the receivers on that play was to run off defenders, and there was no universe in which Josh was going to throw (or intended to throw) the ball one way or the other.

To me, that was a 100% Josh run call all the way.

Ravens defender #29 did not go with Hollins, as the play was drawn up for him to, and instead rightly recognized that it was all Josh run, and thus crashed in unblocked and tied him up. 

I don’t disagree that it was a Josh keeper all the way, but Brady always designs options down there. But again, I don’t disagree with the play call as we had great success earlier in the game in similar situations. As we’ve had all year.

Josh went full 2020 for a split second when he got stuffed on that 3rd and goal. He saw Cook and - to me anyway - it looked like it took everything he’s learned over the last 3 years to just take the sack and survive to live another down and not go Superman to try an insanely low percentage play. 
 

My heart sank when I saw it - but just another example of this being the best year for Josh despite the numbers being slightly lower. Growth and maturity. Oh and rocket arm and MVP and the only quarterback in NFL history. 

Eh i saw what yall were thinking, but I think the camera just happened to be at the right angle where it looked like he broke the 4th wall for a second... legit think his head just got pushed in a way

That reminds me of one of my favorite plays from the Daboll era. I think it was vs the Rams in 2020. Similar situation with goal to go inside the five, Josh in shotgun takes the snap, takes two steps forward like he’s gonna keep, and then stops and finds a wide open receiver in the endzone. I think it went to either Kroft or Lee Smith.

If the Bills practice these situational plays and Cook is ready for Josh to throw a ball at him then it is. easy TD.  Usually, in the heat of the moment, the players do not have that awareness and that results in fumbles etc.

I get it but to be real that is something that Mahomes and the Chiefs would practice if they did the tush push thing as much as the Bills do it and may not be a terrible idea .

 

If you can get the D to commit the way they do because thats all they have ever seen Josh do on short yardage plays such as that stet it up as you r going for it and josh turns his back to push in to the line having Jimbo back there to toss it to and around the end he goes while the defense is all in 🤔 .

 

Just a fan dreaming is all . But who ever thought that Kelsey was going to lateral that ball last year and they did because they practiced it and there it was that's why Reid has 3 SB's to this point and is in play for a 4th with the Chiefs .

 

It's a the play offs baby pull out all the stops ! It's win or go home !! GO BILLS !!!
