I actually genuinely like the two main shows they have (morning/afternoon), but turn both off whenever I hear: Ross Tucker Paul Hamilton Sal The typical callers (one guy from FL who rants, the Gina from Delaware lady, and one other guy who mumbles) The same audacy app ads that never end (I'm an out of towner) Quote

The extra point show is basically unlistenable. Does the Nightcap even still exist? The afternoon show was way better when he produced it. The callers are awful, but they don't choose those. They mostly skew on the homebound retiree or habitual drunk spectrum regardless. I still like the morning show as much as any Bills podcast. Podcasters often take themselves way too seriously and conflate subjective opinion with fact. Agree with all of this. I've never listened to and will never listen to the afternoon show. Post game is usually only worthwhile because it's up to date news. I don't know anybody beyond the post game and morning guys. Sal has sold out. I don't blame him, he gets money and his dream job. The podcasters are too smarmy, as you said full of themselves. 55 minutes ago, Ridgewaycynic2013 said: It's either CTE, or he's got a snootful when he calls the B&S afternoon show. Once they start taking calls, right after a game, it's time to turn it off and do something else. The morning show on my commute to work is still good. 2 Quote

I don't find him objective at all anymore, he's way too close with the team and it makes biased. Like you said, it makes sense and it's hard to blame him for it. The afternoon show is two guys who just don't want to be there anymore. Mike Schopp obviously has a lot of contempt for Buffalo in general and thinks he's too good for the market. Bulldog just needs to retire but for whatever reason can't. I don't hold it against him, I actually like his takes when he bothers to throw one out there. Quote
Bills fan since 87 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) I dunno, I love both the morning and afternoon shows. Do I always agree with the hosts? nope. But it wouldn't be good radio if I did. There are tiems I get annoyed with some of them but more often than not I enjoy both. Now the Audacy app? that can go to hell Edited 20 hours ago by Bills fan since 87 Quote

I wonder if Tucker isn't a similar situation to Steve Tasker. He's not the best 'off the cuff' - extemporaneous speaker, but given a few notes regarding players and game situations, their colour commentary adds to the game. 1 Quote

Unfortunately, all the 'Greg Buck' recordings seem to have disappeared from the web. * EDIT: I just ran a 'Greg Buck' search at YouTube, and did find some of Bauch's recordings, but not the funniest. John Gianelli Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago A few years ago I started listening to BET QL's The Daily Tip in the morning on 1520. Michael Jenkins has a great sense of humor. Chelsa Messinger is the most knowledgeable and entertaining woman in sports broadcasting, by a long shot. They're witty, well informed, down to earth, and easy to listen to. And they talk about the Bills a lot. Quote

It’s as if they’re having their own sports talk, and the rest of us are just listening live. At least they’re talking sports. WFAN in NYC is talking about who takes ED meds and gambling and the Inauguration. I don’t know why Im posting this. Maybe someone here can explain it to me. well, I understand WFAN’s predicament….would you want to talk Jets or Giants? Quote
Estro Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Podcasts have certainly changed the game because you now have a menu of options and you can kind of go after whatever you want to consume. Joe Marino is best on class when it comes to a concise, informed, intelligent podcast. He knows football, he watches film, he comes to his own conclusions....and he communicates it all on a high level. I live in South Jersey and I like to tune into Schoop and Bulldog in the afternoons here and there. I know Schoop is a polarizing figure in Buffalo, but I'm a big fan of his. Like Joe Marino I think he's pretty informed and he has his own thoughts..like it hate some of those opinions he's at least authentic and he's a good communicator. Bulldog paired with Mike is good too. Bulldog on his own, when Mike is out is a trainwreck. He's nervous and the show is a tough listen. It's weird when I tune in to the afternoon show I can almost immediately tell if Mike is out because Bulldog just has a much more nervous style when he's out . 1 Quote

LabattBlue Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) The only people who enjoy Schoop are the gambling and fantasy football addicts. Mr Mensa hasn’t been interesting in years now. Bulldog…just sides with Schoop. Is he still announcing from home? Good gig for him if so. Howard Simon was the last legit broadcast host on the station. Edited 18 hours ago by LabattBlue 1 1 Quote
TheFunPolice Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Podcasting eats away at talk radio talent these days. I bet 50% plus of all radio is consumed through streaming, even in the car. I live in WNY and when I listen to WGR these days it's almost always through the app streaming to speakers around the house. Talent doesn't need the radio station anymore unless they want to play music. Edited 18 hours ago by TheFunPolice Quote
