That is a reflection of Brady and his play calling and design. Not being able to get Cooper involved is telling. MVS scoring multiple td’s for New Orleans ridiculous that he barely saw the field and had only a couple catches. Yes we are winning, but something is wrong here.

superbowl team..rookie play caller.   play calling is..hey guys what do want to do today?...

Kincaid has had 80 targets this season. 48 receptions. 506 yards total. 58 yards on 5 targets in this years playoffs.

Knox has had 38 targets this season. 25 receptions. 330 yards total. 38 yards on 5 targets in this years playoffs.

This includes both the Denver and Baltimore playoff games.

Idk that it makes a massive difference but I haven’t seen it mentioned here yet (maybe I missed it lol) Kincaid only played in 13 games this year regular season…seems worth noting

They have no idea how to use him, nothing more than that.

I mean how should we be using him? He doesn't do a particularly good job making himself available to his QB. He's often not where Josh expects him to be. He can't separate downfield consistently. His hands haven't been nearly as good as I thought coming out. There's a reason Knox has been out-snapping him - Kincaid just hasn't been good enough. I'm hoping the light turns on for him next year. He's very talented but the details aren't there.

Dalton Kincaid was drafted last year and already has more playoff tds than Andrews and only 150 less receiving yards to be fair. It ain’t one rough game for andrews in the playoffs, he’s mostly a nonfactor

Andrews played a pivotal role in the ravens blowing their divisional game as the 1 seed a few years ago too

the guy has 400+ catches, 5000 yards and 50+ TDs, Kincaid will be lucky to sniff those stats.

He broke the Bills single-season record for catches by a TE in his rookie season. They just aren't doing a good job scheming him open. Same with Cooper, same with Coleman, same with Samuels.

That's fine but this year he hasn't been that guy, clearly. It isn't just scheme. There have been plays where he's the designed primary read but can't separate - last week against Denver, the broken play that ended with a missed throw to Knox in the endzone was actually schemed up for Kincaid to get open on an angle route but he lost the rep. Him and Allen often are not on the same page. In general he was drafted to be a reliable pass catcher/chain mover and instead he has a 58.7% catch rate and only 6 yards per target.

I say all of this as a huge Kincaid fan coming out of Utah. He was my draft crush and I couldn't believe it when he fell to us. But I have to be honest about his performance on the field. The traits that I fell in love with haven't translated to the NFL. At least not yet.

Yes that is a very impressive regular season resume, you will find no argument here about that.  but his playoff legacy is 0 tds and a ball clanking off him for an INT in the titans game and getting a ball punched out this year as well as a bunch of drops over the course of his 8 playoff games..  he’s every bit of ‘completely different player come playoff time’ as Lamar is if not more so

Should’ve just signed Gesicki as a receiving TE and used those 1st and 4th rounders on other positions. That’s not hindsight either, I didn’t like trading up for a TE in the first when Josh had never shown a reliance on feeding the position. But hey, the Bills won and will be playing for the AFC Championship, so I care very little about this right now.

Surprised that the Bills are not utilizing Kincaid and Cooper more.  Also surprised that Coleman seems to be out there more than I would have expected.

It's really kinda jekyll and Hyde with these guys

It was also a completely stacked TE class. Trade back and draft 2 was the move, just like Elam's CB class and Sammy Watkins' WR class and we did the opposite each time, SMDH

Just looked across the board. Looks like tight end production was down this year.

FWIW so is WR production. In 2022 the top 10 WRs averaged 1,422 yards. In 2023 it was 1,451. This year it was 1,296. Passing production in general has gone down, as has scoring. Defenses have caught up to the high flying big play offenses, so offenses have responded by becoming more about ball control which is reducing the overall number of plays run. Keeping this discussion point on topic, a player like Kincaid should theoretically thrive in the new style. He was drafted to be a ball control type of player. Instead he's low efficiency and low production.

I've been predicting this for a while but a year or so early. I had expected this by 2022 as far back as '15-16. All things are cyclical but watching Cam Newton blow up defenders made me realize that teams could do well with a Derrick Henry or other big pounding backs - especially by a committee of their skillset.

I love what we have with diversified players, but not sure what we have tied up in them. But 3 cheaper RB's vs a high end Henry has a benefit.

Next up I want a fast OL - interior OL at that. I'd love to get Georgia's 6'5 310 center at 4.6 40 yards to make into a fullback. Now, I don't want to draft an OL or DL in the first 4 rounds for this... Well, maybe 4th round if he's perfect... But I'd sour the nation for fast, big, possibly compact (5'10-6) fast lineman who have hands.
