I think they tried to force feed him in the 1st quarter of the season and that really failed as he had quite a few drops or Allen was over throwing him.  I think they have gone away from it in the 2nd half of the season.  In fact, Knox has got more targets in the 2nd half.   Time to unleash him as he has the potential to get 1st downs consistently.

Kincaid has had 80 targets this season. 48 receptions. 506 yards total. 58 yards on 5 targets in this years playoffs.

Knox has had 38 targets this season. 25 receptions. 330 yards total. 38 yards on 5 targets in this years playoffs.

This includes both the Denver and Baltimore playoff games.

The Bills have no legit deep threat and no receivers that can get reliable separation.  Baltimore covered the 5-15 yard plays and Buffalo complied by dinking, dunking and running  the whole game except on  2 throws.  One that drew DPI on Tre and one on the first drive when Shakir got behind the safety.

Will KC deploy that defense

Is there a Bills receiver that’s been overwhelming? Shakir, a possession receiver, is the only one that comes close. And interestingly the same could be said for this playoffs version of the Chiefs and Ravens as well.

In a game with 22 total pass attempts we don’t need a thread about every single player that didn’t have many targets.  It applies to everyone but Shakir.  This isn’t fantasy football.

It’s not just about this game.  Kincaid has to be one of the most disappointing performers in the league this year.  He’s had zero impact.

Second in line might be Cooper who also is either 1) completely washed,  2) Brady/McD refuses to use him or 3) this scheme can’t use an outside guy.

These are two guys that have had a lot of resources spent to acquire them, both had good years last year without Brady and neither looks like they have a spot in this team, something is off.

I think we all kind of hoped/expected Shakir to be a focal point, but how is it, he’s the ONLY guy who appears to belong in the NFL?  When Mack Hollins is really your #2, but you have Cooper, Kincaid, Samuel and your 1st pick of the draft this year all trying to find a meaningful way to contribute, it’s a real question.   Obviously, they are running more and the backs are eating some of the catches as well, but it’s still odd to have this collection of talent and not being able to get anything going outside or down field.

I think the problem for him is that Shakir is playing his position, and he isn’t better than Shakir. He should be used as a big slot (and honestly Coleman would probably look best as a big slot too).

He isn’t getting targets. It’s hard to read too much into anything after his injury too.

Where are the mismatches?  Where are the big plays?  Why are you not clicking with Josh?  Is Brady to blame?  Opposing TEs continually find soft spots in our coverage, and catch large chunk plays, game after game.  Why can't Kincaid?

9 different Bills have had most receiving yards in a game.  Kincaid has 0.

We know Kincaid has mitts, and he looks smooth sometimes.  Hes got size, and some speed.  Knox is a much more complete TE, yet Kincaid still struggles

Will Kincaid make any big plays against KC?

I like Dalton, and I am rooting for him.  But Im perplexed why he is so underwhelming.

Thoughts?

GO BILLS!

Because I had him on my fantasy team.

I buy that, but fantasy is over so he should be good to go now 😂

I think there needs to be a bit more chemistry between Allen and Kincaid.

They just seem to be a tick off and you rarely see Allen just hitting him in stride, always more of a highlight reel kind of catching effort.

If they get their timing and trust down better I think we could see Kincaid's numbers really pop.

Shakir will still get a ton of targets and that is a good problem to have.

The crazy thing to me is that when Kincaid was out, Knox plugged in as TE1 and the offense was humming better than any other point in the year.

It seems like he has a lot of trouble reading defensive leverage and making himself available to his QB. That skill is what makes Kelce the GOAT. Here's an example from the Ravens game, first play in this clip:

So the debate I've seen on here is it a bad throw or a missed catch? To me it's more about Kincaid's route. I think he needs to flatten his route out and not drift upfield randomly. Allen throws it when he's made his cut and is at the 39, but Kincaid drifts and is at the 41 by the time the ball gets there. If he flattens his route I think the ball is right where it needs to be. This is an issue of understanding leverage IMO.

barely over 6 yards a target and a 60% catch rate won't get him more involved.

I think that's the story in a nut shell.  the way our O runs, individual players don't get a lot of chances to get hot.  and as said above he's not a mauler in the blocking game.  i think a guy like likely in baltimore would be a monster contributor for the bills.  huge and can move around and get open and catch.  kincaid will get more chances to make an impact, but he's gotta be more efficient.

I will  never understand the mindset of most fans.

the constant complaining about Kincaid and Coleman is really absurd to me.

448 yards and two TD's for a TE as a first round pick in year 2 is what you wanted? Only 3 TE's have been drafted in the first round since 2020 and he's one of them. Premium pick, non premium position, non premium production.

So Kincaid is suddenly terrible? If all of these couch potato coaches can digest film why can’t the Bills coaching staff? If you spend a top draft pick on a guy it seems like you invest the time to make sure it was a good investment. No?

He’s the 6th ranked TE in PFF 😂 figured sharing that fact would really spice up the debate lol

Whenever he gets a catch - he has the look of a guy w/ an elite skillset.  He always seems to get those few extra yards that a lot of guys can't get.

I still have hope. As we know - some of Beane's picks can take time to really emerge.

If only he could make plays like Mark Andrews.

Mark Andrews has a body of work that Kincaid can only dream of.  One  rough game sucks for him.

That is a reflection of Brady and his play calling and design. Not being able to get Cooper involved is telling. MVS scoring multiple td’s for New Orleans ridiculous that he barely saw the field and had only a couple catches. Yes we are winning, but something is wrong here.

Brady likes scheming plays for a guy here and there, especially RBs, and otherwise running the ball with extra linemen.

And Josh trusts Shakir the most, by far.

Not sure what else is going on with Kincaid and others. Watch the all-22 and see if he's open. I've seen a number of plays where he doesn't read the zone right and slides into the wrong spot. Other cases, where he just can't get separation.

Not having a strong outside WR tandem, makes it harder for the interior guys. They have a lot less room to work.

Dalton Kincaid was drafted last year and already has more playoff tds than Andrews and only 150 less receiving yards to be fair. It ain’t one rough game for andrews in the playoffs, he’s mostly a nonfactor

Andrews played a pivotal role in the ravens blowing their divisional game as the 1 seed a few years ago too
