so post game there seems to be a lot of debate on the 2nd half offense.

During the game - I hated it.

Immediatly after the game - I hated it.

Now? I think I kind of appreciate it.

So hear me out. The first drive, the Ravens stuffed the offense. Bills even went misdirection on first and the Ravens brought so many they still for the stuff. They stopped the Bills and forced the punt, not really anytning conservative or bad about the playcalling.

They respond with a FG right?  At this point the Bills were pretty intentional abou their play calling. Play for first downs. Go 3-4 yards at a time. They had runs and quick throws, and challenged the Ravens to tackle in the open field. They did that.

The Ravens get their best drive of the game, HAMMERING the Bills in the run. D never stoppe dthem on first. But you know what they DID do? stop the 2 pointer, and now it's 21 - 19.

Again the Bills get the ball. Again they go small ball. This time, they inch their way to multiple first downs.  They took 4.5 minutes, 10 plays to go 37 yards and then get a FG.  The defense comes back, and this time they get the Ravens out of their run game.  They forced them into a 4th down conversion. On the Andrews fumble it was 2nd and 11 after a first down stuff.  If the Bills went aggressive their last drive, and go 3 and out. Are the Bills effective on D? That's the question right.

Bills have the ball. It's off a turnover. It's an opportunity to get aggressive. Instead they take 5:12 to go 50 yards in 11 plays. Josh couldn't bust it in from 3rd and 2 on the 2, they kick the FG...and the Ravens only have 3:23 to score. They did that, and it left 1:33 left with Allen having 2 possessions, so even if Bmore ties it, you gotta believe Allen wins it.

Folks the Bills had an 11 point lead going into the 2nd hald and limited the Ravens to just 4 possessions in the 2nd half.

That is the very definition of complementary football, and controlling the clock so you always have the advantage at the end of the game

So I didn;t at first love the 2nd half strategy...byt when I looked at them having just FOUR possesions, and the defense forcing a FG? That's just great game management.

I'm now 100% complimentary of how the Bills played complementary football to win this game in the 2nd half.

You said hear me out- you best be drunk when you say that. Honestly you make good points but you are working hard.

I believe if I'm not mistaken, Dracula is flat on his back with a stake in his heart on a 747 headed back to Baltimore.

So does this mean we could challenge it or not? Kind of sounds like not but I am not a lawyer.

Can not challenge a spot unless it’s for a TD/first down

The Kincaid drop on 3rd down on the first series of 2nd half was huge.  Gotta catch that.  The Knox tight end screen on the 2nd drive of the half was a terrible play call.  Let josh do Josh things there on 3rd down. Getting tbe ball out of his hands immediately was a gift to the Ravens D.  Brady definitely got too conservative in the 2nd half but won the game.  In KC, I’d like to see us go for the kill more.

Agree, putting Josh in Shotgun at the 1.5 - 2yd line on 3rd down is inexcusable.  Almost cost us.

heck, I don’t mind it but I’d rather spread out their defense and let him choose pass vs finding a crease pre snap.

I think we were good and also lucky to get trucked statistically like we did and still win.

Our d is simply not staffed or coached to stop the ravens, few teams are.  There was a bit of room to be better there (blitz edge guys not up the gut, we suck so bad at inside blitzes) but frankly not much.

On O Brady lost his flipping mind in the second half.  The ravens knew what we were going to do based on our personnel and formation nearly every time.  We did almost nothing to stress the defense, we just let them bully us near the Los and played weak small ball.  Brady simply does not have is do anything to outside wrs.  What bothers me is if he's gonna not do that, then passes to RBs (we did like 4 and they were very effective) and play action or roll outs or something but not an obvious cool hand off on 1st was needed.

Ty was covered and accounted for approximately zero times all game, Baltimore sucks covering backs, how Brady can't figure that vs his trash screens is baffling to me.  A single TD on either of the first two 3rd quarter drives ice's the game for us, he has Allen but runs plays like he has Chicago's QB and ol

Nearly the worst half of football I've seen from Brady, he better flip that script hard

Someone send a memo to Babich to stop blitzing up the middle.  These various players (other than Milano) either fall over each other or get sucked into the wash. They never find slots, except Milano.

I don’t think Brady called a game that accounted for the fact that he has the best player in the NFL.  Josh hit Shakir on that huge 3rd and 8 on the opening possession and then didn’t go downfield again except for the DPI against Coleman.

Last I checked the Ravens have the #1 run defense and #31 pass defense.  Brady: " let's run it down their throats".....and ignore their greatest weakness?????

Sorry but no one can convince me that Brady didn't crap the bed in the 2nd half.  Especially in the 3rd quarter.  What's the point of double dipping if your OC crawls into a conservative hole.  The defense wasn't perfect but the importance of "take-aways" that Sean has instilled in his guys has been absolutely brilliant.  It saved us today.  Brady figure it out between interviews.

This is what MCD does with a lead at the half.

1st half: game plan works perfectly, 2 turnovers, we get a lead, which then takes Henry out of the game. That is the perfect scenario to be in. Couldn’t be better.

2nd half: McD gets scared and conservative and gives back ALL of those advantages that the players earned in the 1st half. Game gets closer. Running with Henry now becomes an option for Ravens with plenty of time on clock. Henry destroys us. Defense is gassed.

My only gripe is that the game could have been done if they tush pushed twice to make it a two possession game.

And they could have been stuffed and then lost the game on the ensuing Touchdown as well.

The Field Goal was the right decision. Especially seeing how the rest of the game went.

Hated everything about the game plan in the second half. Couldn't disagree with you more.

Four different drives where the offense could have ended the game and they went 0/4.

You have the best player in the league, let him win you the game.

I think you're right.  The first drive of the 2nd half was killed by Kincaid's drop.  I don't have an issue with the play-calling.  I thought the second drive was a poor one, and after that I think they were trying to bleed clock and limit the Ravens' possessions.  It was clear we couldn't stop them straight up in the second half, so the strategy is shorten the game, squeak out a couple additional points and hold on for dear life.

If that's our strategy,  especially with a lead then we're in deep trouble. KC won't be dropping balls all over the place. It's not realistic to expect your run game to fire off 5 yards per play on 1st down.  Especially against the #1 run D.  Foolish strategy and we dodged a bullet today.

This is my biggest problem. I understand the desire to control the clock and give our defense rest, but you need to mix in some intermediate passing game so you don't have short stalled out drives. It's like we intentionally played to the opponent's greatest strength and ignored their greatest weakness. Just a really strange game plan, and they got too conservative too early (like they always do).

Brady was terrible in 3rd quarter. Probably just cost himself a HC job.

Defense forced three turnovers but yet again failed to make a stop when it mattered.

Like last game against Chiefs, Bill need to be ultra aggressive and get up by 2 or more scores deep into the fourth
