I hated the 3rd Down run as well. That said, the Ravens scored a TD from 88 yards out. I think McD was kicking no matter what on 4th. Tried to catch them off guard

It was 100% the right call. If it only put them up 7 then it's different. But the calculation for me was kick go up 8 you give yourself 3 shots to win:

 

1. Stop them scoring the TD

2. Stop them scoring the 2pointer

3. Even if they score both get the ball with about 90 seconds and 2 time outs to kick a winning FG.

I’d say part of the decision is that you make your opponent play mistake free in slippery conditions.  Andrews paid off the strategy, just like any other Raven might have during that drive.

This.  A terrible spot.  Josh landed on the ball at the 1.  CBS didn’t even show a replay.  I rewound my tv feed.  No idea how the spotter in the sky didn’t move the ball up.  If we lost that game, that’s ’no goal’ level bad.  The difference between the 1 and 2 yard line is huge.

AND even fail all those it’s 50-50 in overtime 

 

roll in that 8 makes it basically impossible to lose in regulation and you have to do it

The play before that wasn’t.

 

We should have tush pushed twice like Romo was saying.  Allen doesn’t just get one yard on these most of the time, he would have scored and saved us the the cardiac at the end.

McDermott said he went to check the spot to decide on the play call.  He definintely made the decision to go for the fg.

They are not brain dead they just have an agenda and make everything fit it. Defense blows? McDermott's fault. Offense struggles? McDermott's fault. Other team makes a great play? McDermott's fault. 

 

I thought he and Babich coached a good game today. Brady didn't have his best day but even there... he is hamstrung by what he has at wide receiver to an extent. I just worry a tad that Baltimore just gave Spags the blueprint.

Sean was brilliant and Brady came out of halftime like a moron.  He damn near cost us this game. Since the day Josh was drafted,  he's yet to have a competent offensive coach.  He's gotta do it all physically and mentally.

I wonder as well.  I think he was trying to channel Tom Brady and Mahomey playing with the lead hoping that the other team makes a mistake.  Btw, our biggest problem is pass rush.  Next week we’ll have to score 40.  Go Bills!

Yep - go up by 8 - can't lose on a baltimore drive up 8.  If Andrews doesnt choke on that 2 pt conversion catch, I still believe josh leads them down the field for a a GW FG.  

 

3rd and goal from the one, you do 2 tush pushes. Sometimes Brady doesn't think - which happens to all coaches

It was a weird game from an offensive perspective. On one hand, I was happy we ran the ball well but we played so limited. I'm not sure why Josh was held from throwing the ball downfield. Felt like we were running the ball into the teeth of the defense. Literally and figuratively. 

 

I could care less, cause a win is a win but it was strange game from Brady.

Haha maybe. But that's a risky game to play. The bills caught a huge break with the drop as Andrews catches that 99/100 times.
