Andrews should have made that catch but Simms isn't wrong.  Notice that Andrews is sort of awkwardly backpedaling/sidepedaling as he waits for the pass and the ball comes in low.  Not ideal.

Of course it should still be caught. But Lamar made a really easy throw and catch as difficult as a really easy thing can be. If that makes any sense? Ha.

I've seen that drop a few dozen times at this point.

 

It's definitely not as easy a catch as it looked like at first.  He was falling backwards, and people really aren't taking the cold into account. That was extreme cold, and the ball can be like a rock in those circumstances.

 

He should have still caught it - but mistakes happen, these guys are all human beings.  Fans should have to write "it's just a game" on a blackboard 100x.  The reaction to these situations can get so unnecessarily toxic.

With his back to the pylon, I think Andrews also had to be worried about where he was on the field and not landing out of bounds before he got both feet down…that could be enough to distract him from fully concentrating on the football.

Totally we root hard are nuts over the top but in the end we recognize humanity it's what separates us. And I for one love it... in fact other cities around the league are doing the same thing now... how could this possibly be bad... donations are over 30k now
