Hated the conservative playcalling in the second half like they were playing with a 3rd string QB or something instead of the MVP.

 

But they got it done, that's all that matters.

 

To all the arrogant Ravens fans and media personalities that made it sound as if the Bills shouldn't even bother showing up like it was going to be just a pre-season game for them and they were going to stomp us into the ground...

I'm sorry I massively disagree. Lamar was the deciding factor. He was bad. The Bills should have won this game handily but Brady went conservative with playcalling.

 

Lamar chokes in another playoff game. That's 100% the story. He was rattled and obviously couldn't handle the pressure OR the weather.

National media should be ignored unless you're watching it for comedic value. I've not seen anything, but it's unsurprising that if you just watched the postgame shows that you think the Ravens won.

I just watched it again, and you’re probably right. But a little higher and maybe a touch sooner and he walks in. It wasn’t a Jackie Smith drop (now im really dating myself).

I'm going to refute the whole McDermott and Brady coached/playcalled "to not lose". This is silly.  The Raven blew out their last 5 opponents leading up to this game and their defense has been spectacular.  Henry ran for well over 100 yard for every single one of those games. 

 

Was it a flashy game?  Nope.  But the Bills stuck to the run and rolled up 147 yards of rushing against a very strong rush defense. They made safe, high percentage throws and converted first downs.  They won the time of possession battle. They won the penalty battle.

 

This was never going to be blowout game with long bombs to the endzone.  Baltimore's defense is too good for that.

 

Defensively, McDermott and Babich used the blueprint provided for beating the Ravens:  Limit Henry and expose Jackon's weaknesses. 

 

As long as that plan was working, the offense's job was mainly to grind it out, protect the ball and not do anything risky or stupid.  They achieved that in spades. Two hands on the ball and drive upfield.  This was the right game plan against THIS team. 

 

On to KC.  That game plan will be much different.  Go Bills!

I edited the above post, so if you don't see that, and if you like rye, seek out Johnnie Walker High Rye. It's not blue label but much smoother and less smoky than black label, and should be in the $40 range (i found a case on closeout at $10 a bottle, like finding a winning lottery ticket)

Interesting tidbit on the ravens.

 

Baltimore is now 0-12 in franchise history when losing the turnover battle in the playoffs and 18-2 when turnover margin is at least tied. Their minus-3 turnover margin in the loss is tied for a franchise-worst in postseason games and the sixth time in franchise history they’ve hit the mark in the postseason. They last went minus-3 in the turnover battle in last year’s Kansas City game.
