Schoen has been a little bit of a disappointment if I’m being honest. The decision to bring Daniel Jones back was a massive blunder that set them back. Although it increasingly sounds like that was an ownership direction as much as a GM decision. When Gaine went to Houston it looked a good situation. Fell apart quickly though. Quote

Beane has had three guys hired off his staff to become GMs: Brian Gaine by Houston, Joe Schoen by Miami and Dan Morgan by Carolina. Gaine lost a power struggle to Bill O'Brien and ended up back pretty quickly and Schoen is on the hotseat. I don’t disagree they’ve had a few guys plucked, but it doesn’t feel like anywhere near the rate of Lynch/Shannahan, and by extension McVay. Next to the Chiefs (who have had a number of guys hired too), the Bills are the second winningest team in the league over the past several years, so I’m surprised more folks haven’t been poached to try and replicate Beane/McD success. 🤷♂️ Seems unusual, but, to your point, those that have left haven’t exactly set the world on fire which is a huge factor. But like @JGMcD2 mentioned, they walked into some pretty terrible circumstances. Schoen being the biggest disappointment so far with some of the questionable decisions they’ve made (e.g., Jones, Barkley). 1 Quote

I hate to break it to you, but the rest of the NFL knows what at least some of us see here, the coaching, poor contracts and lack of top end drafting is what’s holding perhaps the best QB in the NFL back. Josh Allen is making silk purses out of sow ears, without him, this team is mediocre at best. Congratulations, you have him, but it’s not like that’s something anyone else can replicate without insane luck. Quote
