I obviously expect the Chiefs to win, but I hope Houston beats the tar out of them! It’s the NEXT injury report I’m most interested in.

Meh. I am not sure Mixon is that important to them.

Lol how important would you say Cook is to us?  Mixon had more rushing and receiving yards both

Pretty wild how the Chiefs are always healthy at this time of year.

Their 2nd most important player on offense is out for the year. They're just now getting back their #2 CB who has been out for over a month and will probably be rusty. They won 15 games while missing a bunch of important players. So it's not really correct to say they have been lucky with injuries this year. They just keeping finding ways to win and don't have to make excuses later.

Not unreasonable to say they have been extremely fortunate injury wise in the playoffs for a few years now. The Rice injury led to them trading for Hopkins. Of course he's still a big loss, but point is they found an adequate replacement. Otherwise they are fully healthy, like they are seemingly every year.

Rice had become an elite WR before his injury. Nobody talks about it though because they found a way to keep winning, even before adding Hopkins. And yes Hopkins has been a good starter for them but they lost an elite talent at a critical position and it barely even slowed them down.

And I'm not talking about previous years, I'm talking about this year. This year they've missed as many starters as almost any team. They parlayed that into their best regular season ever. IMO injuries are often a red herring used by fans to excuse losses. For example if we beat the Ravens this week no one here is going to say it doesn't count because they're missing their best WR.

In general I reject the common belief that the Chiefs have been especially lucky in recent years.

No.  I'm referring specifically to the playoffs as "this time of year" clearly infers.  Rice was out all season and they pivoted to Hopkins  I'd say that's a wash at worse.

In a year of offensive disappointments for the Texans, he and Nico Collins are about all there was to cheer for this year on the offensive side of the ball.   He was their key offensive performer in the 2nd half of the season.  I think if Houston has any shot (slim) Mixon would have to play a heavy role.

I'm not sure I'd quite have Rice in the elite category. Very good player. Had established himself as a legit #1, but I do think elite is a stretch.

On your wider point they have at times been down their #1 WR, the guy they signed as a FA to be their #2, their starting running back, their elite kicker and their #1 outside corner which has meant moving McDuffie outside and then trying to backfill at nickel. So hard to say they have had injury luck.

Where they had luck this year was the Broncos FG block, that is a 1 in every 50 play, the Raiders botched snap when in FG range, and Likely's toe v Baltimore week 1. I do think they have had the break of the ball a time or two.

Rasheed is far more valuable and effective for the Chiefs than Hopkins.

Rice is clearly better than DHop at this stage.
