Bills sign former Ravens QB Brown to practice squad

What a smart signing.  He has experience in the Ravens offense as a spot starter and is a very good athlete.  He should be a very good Lamar proxy in practice.

anyway, I can't imagine this guy will be of much value game planning at this point.  2 practices.  Not sure, if he was that good, why they didn't keep him on the PS this year.

He was last with the Ravens on their PS the first week of the 2023 season. He was briefly on the Raiders, Bills (5 days) and Cards PSs this season.

As discussed elsewhere, he wasn't signed to pump for information. He was signed to be the actual scout team QB in practice because he can both run and pass in a way that Mike White can't and that you don't want Trubisky doing in practice right now.

all this was clear.  having him run around pretending he's Lamar for the next day or so won't add much, I would imagine.

1) He does know a fair amount Todd Monken's offense

2) He is better suited to simulate how Lamar play vs White or Trubisky

3) Getting a player on the 53 man roster hurt because their playing scout team QB is not a wise decision.

No one needs to get hurt playing scout QB--why would that suddenly be a concern?

 

McD and his DC should be more familiar than a guy who last worked out with that Offense 16 months ago---if not the Bills are sunk Sunday.  They are going to tell Brown what play to run (based on what they already know about Jackson's game) and then pretend the D doesn't know what's coming?
