Leslie Frazier probably has no chance at this job. I think this is to help check boxes. But interesting that Frazier is getting a look here.

I don't think he's a good fit in Dallas. But a team that needs a steady handed coach to help set culture like the Jags or Raiders could do worse than a "Bridge HC" like Leslie.

How many times has he been thru this? He’s 65 and the longest of long shots, imo. Does he get tired of these “interviews”?

I'd just record a YouTube of myself and send it to the interviewers.

Rooney Rule strikes again

At least Frazier is currently working in the league and has been a HC before. The Pats* interviewing Leftwich, who had been out of the NFL the past two seasons was a sham interview if I ever saw one

Frazier's a good coach & i think he more than likely learned a lot of things from his first go round that he might change, plus seeing what & how the Bills did some things i'm sure he was paying attention .

But when your working for Jerry none of that matters he had 1 of the best coaches ever and screwed that up by pissin him off enough for him to quit . I've done a couple of tours in that stadium and he micro manages every one that comes through the door and i can't imagine what it would be like to have him looking over your shoulder every day .

What's odd is that if it is indeed a Rooney Interview, this year there seems to be multiple very qualified minority candidates out there. Aaron Glenn is one of the hottest names this cycle. Flores and Saleh have each had multiple interviews this cycle as well.  You could satisfy the Rooney as well as do due diligence on several current front runners.

Bringing in Frazier for one tells me one of a couple things may be in play. Either top minority candidates have turned down Jones 's request, possibly due to knowing Jerry isn't hiring a minority to be the HC or there's already inside information that Dallas already has the HC picked and is rushing to satisfy the Rule.

Or maybe he likes Leslie and he's getting a fair shake. Time will tell

Probably a Rooney Rule interview, but Jerry does like a Head Coach he can dictate to and Leslie probably fits that mould. As for would he be a good bridge HC... 4 or 5 years ago, I'd have said possibly for a dysfunctional franchise that needed an adult in the room. There was certainly a time when I thought the Bears made some sense. But not now. He is 65. I think his time has passed.

Jerry Jones keeping his dumpster fire in the headlines this week when there is what appears to be an all time Playoff matchup on sunday is pretty sad.

The fact that the local and national media just run to their microphones to repeat what the jones's leak to their preferred guys is pretty sad too.

The media here has already made Mike McCarthy a villain and are promoting Jason Witten to be the next head coach.  He has zero proffesional or college coaching experience.  They love to call it a circus but the local and national media need it to be and keep it a circus.

Its awesome rooting for a team that is all about football.

I have seen the "Witten is a former Cowboys tight end just like Dan Campbell. Witten was always smarter than Dan Campbell and Dan Campbell has done great in Detroit!"

Sure. Campbell also spent 11 years paying his dues including a spell as interim HC in Miami and a number of years as Assistant Head Coach under Sean Payton. I think that's better prep than than Witten's "Jerry likes me" case for the job.

yea no doubt. If you were a coach working your way up through the system and you have moved your family from city to city.....and you are still fighting to get through.....and then Jerry Jones hires Jason Witten as the Head Coach.

Other coaches would be livid if that happens.  Not that The Jones family cares but it really is a slap in the face to the profession that a guy like witten could even get consideration.  Jerry did the same thing with Jason Garrett in 07.  He was upset he let Sean Payton go and was looking for a guy he could say was his payton and it was garrett.  Now he has two guys he is doing it again with, Jason Witten and Kellen Moore.

Jerry wanted Witten on McCarthy's staff the first year and McCarthy said no.  Jerry gave him the benefit of the doubt at the time but he won't do that going forward.  Dallas is going to hire someone that Dak wants offensively and someone who will bring witten aboard.  They probably hire Kellen Moore dak's buddy who apparently was so fed up with McCarthy offering his opinions on offense that he couldn't wait to get out.

The kicker is Dallas has had a lot of former cowboys and nfl players on recent staffs and none are being considered.  If you are one of those guys you must be shaking your head.

Either way nothing is changing in Dallas anytime soon.

Couple other tidbits from the Dallas search. Kellen Moore gives me "Jason Garrett" hiring vibes.

But Prime in Dallas would be a 💩 storm. I frankly hope that happens

agreed, but the problem with this is that then the Cowboys will be on national TV 4 more times next season
