Reminder: NFL "narratives" aren't real and don't matter. Podcasts and TV shows and gambling websites and social media fan debates do not control reality. Only the games do. It does not matter how it "looks" to anyone. It matters what happens.

I have grown to hate sports "content" and debate and the vapid voices that create it. It's designed only to reinforce simplistic, binary, and tribal divisions, and to drive revenue to retail and entertainment/gambling outlets. We've long since left behind sports journalism and meaningful commentary (except for a few rare exceptions?). It's all commercial. Designed only to capture.

We gotta yell with more decibels because we are yelling against the Ravens faithful, and the team with the loudest fans wins.  Practice at home.

Right on OP. Been saying this all long. Ever since everyone and their sister got a YouTube format to regurgitate the lazy narratives from programs like Speak, First Things First, Facility, etc, real football analysis/breakdowns have gone bye bye.

It's hilarious how you are even getting replies here defending that tired carbon copy loop of "my dad can beat up your dad" QB vs QB "analysis"

We are outnumbered. It's the new way because it's easier to sell soap opera drama in bunches.

Yes, it's technically true, but it's pedantic to belabor it. Yes, clearly everyone knows that Lamar is not defending Josh's passes, but the QB vs QB thing isn't all that different to describing individual games like Golf, Darts, Bowling etc. Phil Mickelson wasn't roleplaying as a sandtrap when he faced off against Tiger Woods, but he still played againt him, even if the game was really just playing against the course. Yes, it's absolutely a team game, but these guys understand the reality. Josh sees what Lamar is doing when he plays and if he scores a TD, he knows he has to go out there and score blow for blow. I think it matters more than a little.

Agreed. It’s semantics.

It's always one team vs the other. In this matchup, you have two of the top 4 QB's in the league. There's no rational argument where it's not Allen, Mahomes, Burrow, and Lamar as the top 4. Switch them around however you would like, but these 4 guys are the cream of the crop.

Josh is right in what he said. The media bobbleheads hype these things up. Josh could play a mirror to the Pats Playoffs game or the 13 seconds game and it wouldn't matter. If Buffalo loses, then the 🤡's on TV will say, "Josh Allen just can't get this team over the hump." It's just how it goes. Lamar could have a mediocre performance, but they would lift up their praises to Lamar saying, "It wasn't pretty, but Lamar led his team victory." Then it would be ANOTHER instance where the stats all of a sudden don't matter again. It wouldn't be about the performances of the individuals, it would be about wins and losses. The 🤡's on TV will continue to be 🤡's on TV. It's just in their nature. I just hope Josh gets the best revenge of all, a Lombardi, and wears that ring on his middle finger so he can show it off.

So if I understand correctly you maintain that the NFL is trying to sell you food. What are you eating….Jerry? Rice? Hmmm?

All of what you said, and remember no Bildos guys

🤣

I’ve been patiently waiting for the Patrick Mahomes version.

What am I being reminded of?

That it’s Allen vs Ravens D and Jackson vs Bills D

And the Buffalo roster outside of Allen deserves more credit from the media. The offensive line has been elite. The team is breaking records hence the 30+ rushing and 30+ passing TDs this season. That doesn’t happen by accident.

Keep dreaming OP

Make no doubt this is 100% Allen vs Jackson.

If the coaches don't see that then we have already lost. This game is 100% on Allen passing and running us to victory.  The others need to do their job, but if you think we can win this game with Allen passing for 175 yards you are dreaming. This game will only be won if Allen goes off for 325 or more and probably will need at least 4 scores.

Want to stop Jackson and his sidekick Henry then outscore them early. Neutralize Henry and Ricard by scoring at will in the first half.

NFL stopped being a team sport a couple decades ago. It's a QB, one sidekick on offense or defense, and a supporting cast league.

Tell that to Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase. 2 of the best at their positions and missed the playoffs

Josh made a great quote in the press conference about the whole Allen vs Lamar media debacle. It was along the lines of “I’m not playing Lamar Jackson. I’m going up against the Ravens defense and they’re one of the best.” If there is one pet peeve of mine, it’s the whole QB vs QB thing. The Allen vs Mahomes is the one that gets under my skin the most because the defense/coaching/ST are what lost us the game, but somehow Allen gets the blame despite playing nearly perfect. I feel like people forget it’s a team game and it will always be a team game even more so as of recent where running backs & physical defensive play style are all making a huge comebacks. We nearly had multiple 2000 yard rushers in the NFL along with Buffalo being the first team with both a 30+ passing AND rushing TD season. It’s Harbaugh vs McDermott, Bernard & Milano vs Henry, Bates vs Rasul, Van Noy vs Dion Dawkins, etc. My point is there are crucial matchups all over the field in every NFL game. I get that QBs are the super stars of the team, but this isn’t basketball. You need 11 guys executing perfectly along w/ good play calling to exploit mismatches. I always hear people saying Allen does it all by himself and the Bills have subpar talent. That is crap. We have the leader in Rush TDs in James Cook and a beast of an o-line who have been playing their asses off. It’s insulting to them when the media/fans say this Allen vs Jackson BS. An great NFL team is a well oiled machine that needs all the moving parts to function properly or the whole thing could break down. Too much credit (and blame) is always given to one sole individual. Thank you for your time and GO BILLS 🦬1️⃣🏆

Does anyone have the Cliff notes that I can borrow?

ps - The loser of this game, whether it is Josh or Lamar, will get crucified by the media, for “choking” in the playoffs. Even if the loss has nothing to do with the QB’s performance…

People will continue to have dumb takes on the internet.  Phallic nose Wright makes a career of it.

I will say ravens fans have been the most annoying people in comments sections on youtube.  Even more than chiefs fans.

bad analogy

the whole point of the quote is that each QB is playing against another team's defense, comprised of different players/scheme/coaches etc etc

golfers in a tourney are both playing the same course. if i'm playing tpc sawgrass from the tips and you're playing your local muni ladies tees it wouldn't make much sense to compare scores would it

When did any one ever fault Josh for 13 Seconds or for playing 12 yards off the line against the Bengals?

When people say Allen is 0-3 against Mahomes in the post-season. No, the BILLS are 0-3. His play during the 13 seconds blunder is a winning game 99.99% of the time. He did his job immaculately. That loss should not be used on him period.

Exactly. Thank you. So who has the better matchup ? Allen against the Ravens D or Lamar against the Bills D? That’s the biggest question. On paper, it looks like Allen is going to have the tougher matchup, but Buffalo’s run D is very streaky. They are also the healthiest they’ve been all season unlike the last time they played Baltimore where they basically were missing 4 core players. If the defensive line can get good penetration and contain Lamar then Milano & Bernard will be able to feast. Chiefs held them to 10 points last year in the AFCC and their defense is good, but not anything special. Milano is very good
