It's a capitalistic mindset, viewed through that lens. Many would also argue that Vontaze Burfict violently and forever altered the trajectory of Brown's career. Quote

Expand Oh for sure the Bills dodged a bullet with him but he had 9 years in Pittsburgh, had 1,000 yards plus in 7 of them and the two he didn't were his rookie year and a year where he missed some time injured. He was the most elite end of elite for most of that period and only the very final year there did anything come out about him being problematic. Maybe there were always issues and they just never leaked, who knows (?) but a 6th round pick who puts up seven 1,000 yard seasons, four of them with double digit touchdowns too and is a four time first team all pro? He is one of the greatest draft picks in Pittsburgh Steelers history. Regardless of his career going totally off the rails once he left there. 1 Quote

Expand I mean he literally quit on his team this year and was largely a complete malcontent before he was traded to baltimore. He seems to think he's antonio brown, but he's just not. 30+ WRs get drafted every year, and many barely play in year 1. Now there's another 30 coming in 2025, plus the ones from last year, players returning from injury... There's only like 96 "starting" wr jobs, and i'd imagine he's no longer in consideration for a starting spot with the majority of teams after this behavior. I know I'm personally not interested at all, let alone for league minimum compensation (which wouldn't qualify for comp pick anyway). Then factoring in what a "bench" WR is responsible for - he'd likely have to return punts and kicks again, or play special teams... i'm not sure he's better than a lot of other veterans in those roles.
