Maybe because he didn't call plays in LA. Anyway, good offensive mind. I guess we'll see if he can build a culture, which is what is needed in Jacksonville.

Looks like Brady is about to be shut out...only 2 more openings...Raiders which I can't see him taking due to their QB situation and Saints, which I also can't see him taking for the same reason.

 

McCarthy expected to go to the Saints and either Todd Monken or Pete Carroll expected to go to the Raiders.

I wouldn't rule Brady out for the Saints job with him working there a year and his time at LSU.  I think it's his job if he wants it as the Saints pry see a young Sean Payton.

New Orleans is in cap hell, and that’s a ***** spot for Brady.  Ben Johnson has a QB, some cap room, some nice draft picks, and some young talent on the team- it’s a much better situation to succeed.  Brady should wait for the right situation.  He might be better served waiting a year

Why would you want it is the question? Far better situations will be available to him coming up in the future.

Exactly this. In the past, someone might have jumped at the first chance offered to be a HC but, as the Ben Johnson situation shows, staying put in a decent place with a chance to add to your résumé isn't going to hurt your chances of getting a job you actually want (and I suspect he is hoping for the Bengals to continue to underperform and for Zac Taylor position to open up after next season)

Well hopefully Saints ownership doesn't feel the same as their writers do...3 of the 5 want Brady as their next HC...

 

I just find it hard to believe he would go there to take over a bad roster and no real QB with tons of cap issues. Makes no sense to take a job where you are set up to fail.

Gut feeling is the NO Saints are waiting on him to hire as their next HC.

A lot of people thought the sky was falling when Daboll left.  And in truth Daboll did have a lot to do with Josh developing so well and so fast.  But, the Bills kept on winning after Daboll left, and they'll keep on winning after Brady leaves, whenever that is, hopefully not for a while.  

 

Teams work hard to figure out why a particular opponent is successful, and they scheme up ways to counter what the successful team is doing.  Some DC is going to figure out a weak spot or two of Brady, and the rest of the league will copy it, and either he'll stick with what he's been doing and slip down a notch, or he'll keep on creating new stuff to maintain his edge.  Sooner or later even the most creative OCs run out of new stuff, or their good players get old/paid/injured/traded.  No one keeps it up forever.  Brady has the great good fortune to be the OC when the Bills finally put together a strong O line.  In a couple years, maybe Dawkins has lost it or Brown's back acts up or someone else leaves as a FA.  This stuff happens, and when it does, the O line won't be as good, and suddenly the OC won't seem so smart.  Or, God forbid, Josh gets injured and loses his ability to run past or through defenders.  

 

Brady deserves all the praise he's getting, and if he gets a HC chance out of this year, I think he'll take it.  A year from now is a very long time, and his stock could take a huge tumble -- but probably won't get any higher than it is now.

The flip side of that is that Spags would be free to take the Saints job.  The sooner that guy is off the Chiefs, the better.  He's just a great DC and he's done a better job than anyone of slowing down Josh.

Yeah, the most important thing.  And even with Goff, the Lions still pretty much stunk under Campbell too, initially.  The turnaround that followed was amazing, and probably not duplicatable.
