If the offense regresses and all of a sudden no one wants to hire him. Sometimes you gotta jump on the first available option unless you are willing to bet on yourself. Which if I’m Brady, I’m betting on me and josh Allen having a successful offense again next year. Tell that to Ben Johnson He turned down job offers last year to return to Detroit Quote

A very big worry. McDermott asked Joe Brady about Kromer before hiring him. The only positive here is Brady is likely to name Ron Curry his OC, so not much of a promotion available for Kromer. McDermott can make Kromer his Assistant Head coach/run game coordinator. 1 Quote

Just don't see it happening. Kromer has been a great O-line coach in a lot of stops. Usually O-line guys get passed over a lot for coordinator jobs even though Kromer does have a little bit of experience. I could see a situation like you said where Kromer gets a new title or titles possibly as high as co offensive coordinator with someone else but run game coordinator is more likely like you said. I can't see him making a lateral move to Jacksonville when he has an incredibly good offensive line here already and has built something special unless he just likes and wants to be in warmer weather. Any OC job would be just title, he wouldn’t call plays if he goes with Joe Brady. Quote

I get that, looking at his career arc, this is actually the longest that Kromer has been at any stop in the NFL. Kind of crazy when you think about it only being almost 4 years. Sometimes when you get older you know a situation is good and your content to stick with it versus trying to go somewhere else and start over again. Lets hope Kromer has hit that point in his coaching career that he'll stay as long as the Bills organization will have him. 1 Quote
DapperCam Posted yesterday at 05:25 AM Posted yesterday at 05:25 AM I think if you want an NFL head coaching job and one is offered to you, then you pretty much have to take it. You may never get another chance and there are only so many spots available. The only exception would be for an extremely dysfunctional org. I really only count the Jets as that, this cycle (maybe the Cowboys). Quote
BigDingus Posted yesterday at 06:31 AM Posted yesterday at 06:31 AM I feel like the biggest benefit Mahomes has is a steady, consistent offensive mind guiding him & the offense. Pairing an offensive HC with a great QB is such an underrated component of his success. We got the opposite, with our QB's offense being constantly in flux & our ho-hum defense staying the same. Can't complain too much though, as it's a hell of a lot better than where we were for 17 years. 1 Quote
bills6969 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I have a feeling he’s gonna get the Saints gig. Hoping this isn’t a distraction like it was for Ben Johnson last week. 1 Quote
skibum Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I'm hoping Joe B doesn't want any of the available HC jobs - which is not an unreasonable outcome, given the state of the teams with jobs up for grabs. Quote
GunnerBill Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Turns out Coen WILL be the Jags Head Coach after all. All it took was a firing of Trent Baalke. https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1882567741439422629 He is in the building. Feeling growing that its his job. Quote

I wonder how long it took Bilichick to be as heavily involved on the offensive side of the ball as I know by the 2010's he was supposedly much more hands on with the offense than he was early in the Pats/Brady dynasty. I think McD's gonna have to be that way soon as he's gonna lose OC after OC with Josh. Quote
jahnyc Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Seems like New Orleans is the one remaining head coaching spot that we should be most concerned that Brady would take given his history with New Orleans and LSU. Quote
GASabresIUFan Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Just keep winning and we probably won't have to worry about replacing Brady for at least another year or two. 1 Quote

Weird to bounce back and forth between college and the NFL ever year like that. 1 Quote

Yes and no, he was with McVay his first stint for 3 years as an assistant, then took the OC job at Kentucky and worked with Will Levis. They won 10 games which at Kentucky is unheard of and then he came back to be the OC for the Rams after O'Connell left. My question would be why did he leave that to go back to Kentucky after that. Seems to have worked out for him though as he had one of the better offenses in the NFL with the Bucs this year. Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Call me crazy, but I think Brady stays one season more, Bills give him a big pay raise for this season, and he looks for better opportunities than what are left this offseason as none of the openings seem particularly attractive right now. Quote
