If the offense regresses and all of a sudden no one wants to hire him. Sometimes you gotta jump on the first available option unless you are willing to bet on yourself. Which if I’m Brady, I’m betting on me and josh Allen having a successful offense again next year. Tell that to Ben Johnson He turned down job offers last year to return to Detroit Quote

McDermott asked Joe Brady about Kromer before hiring him. The only positive here is Brady is likely to name Ron Curry his OC, so not much of a promotion available for Kromer. McDermott can make Kromer his Assistant Head coach/run game coordinator. 1 Quote
Dr.Sack Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Real simple solution: McDermott wins a Super Bowl Quote

Just don't see it happening. Kromer has been a great O-line coach in a lot of stops. Usually O-line guys get passed over a lot for coordinator jobs even though Kromer does have a little bit of experience. I could see a situation like you said where Kromer gets a new title or titles possibly as high as co offensive coordinator with someone else but run game coordinator is more likely like you said. I can't see him making a lateral move to Jacksonville when he has an incredibly good offensive line here already and has built something special unless he just likes and wants to be in warmer weather. Any OC job would be just title, he wouldn’t call plays if he goes with Joe Brady. Quote

I get that, looking at his career arc, this is actually the longest that Kromer has been at any stop in the NFL. Kind of crazy when you think about it only being almost 4 years. Sometimes when you get older you know a situation is good and your content to stick with it versus trying to go somewhere else and start over again. Lets hope Kromer has hit that point in his coaching career that he'll stay as long as the Bills organization will have him. Quote
DapperCam Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I think if you want an NFL head coaching job and one is offered to you, then you pretty much have to take it. You may never get another chance and there are only so many spots available. The only exception would be for an extremely dysfunctional org. I really only count the Jets as that, this cycle (maybe the Cowboys). Quote
BigDingus Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I feel like the biggest benefit Mahomes has is a steady, consistent offensive mind guiding him & the offense. Pairing an offensive HC with a great QB is such an underrated component of his success. We got the opposite, with our QB's offense being constantly in flux & our ho-hum defense staying the same. Can't complain too much though, as it's a hell of a lot better than where we were for 17 years. Quote
