I know I'm in the miniority here, and also know that he's not known to be a run stuffer.  But every time Jordan Philips is in the game, he gets push up the middle.  The dude is 6'6" 340lbs.  If Oliver gets pushed around like the last game, I would like to see Philips eat into his snaps.

Go ahead...I'm ready for ya to kill for me for this suggestion.

If we see some 3 LB looks, I would not be surprised to see the staff mix in some 3 DL looks with it.

I'd love if we played a 3-3-5 put Rousseau and Oliver on the edges and Jones at NT. On passing downs move Von in at OLB to replace Williams.

Morrow played 17 snaps in Baltimore and I don't think Williams or Spector came out from memory. They were pretty much all on the 2nd and 3rd Baltimore drives. Both of which they marched down the field and scored touchdowns.

They destroyed Morrow when he was in.  He couldn’t handle the back.  (Hill, I think??)

This bills defense was designed to beat kc.  Not ravens.

Hoping ravens turn the ball over a couple times.  Otherwise we need superman Josh to show up.

The easiest #1 thing TBD can do..... scream like you GD lives depend on it.  1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th down.... NOT at the line.  It starts in the huddle.  Hire me and Ill sacrificial lamb pump in artificial noise and they can fire their 'rogue' audio director LOL

So i reviewed the play by play of that game just now.  our O was more predictable and bottled up/small ball than it's been since the houston game.  both teams got smashed with penalties, but the bills just weren't able to overcome them, and on 3rd and long josh got sacked a few times.  cook was actually really effective in running the ball, but back then we played musical backs and had too many fruitless runs into traffic and we got taken out of the run early.  I actually think even with that lesser version of the team if cook gets 15-20 touches we score at least 10 more points.

on the other side, the opening play was awful, 87 yard tub by henry.  the second drive we allowed 3rd and 11+ to get converted twice.  we had several stops and in the second half were better on both sides of the ball.  a missed FG really sunk the team not to mention that insane trick play.

baltimore kicked our butts and was much better that game, but the reality is that the bills real failing was on O.  not running cook, awful trick play, and a few just horrible situations where it was a doomed drop back situation did us in.

How many snaps do you think we’ll play with Milano-Bernard-Dorian? I’m thinking we play around 25-30% but I hope it’s more.  I think it’ll be the key to winning or losing

I’d much rather have Dorian Williams out then than Hamlin. Our LB unit can be a strength.  We have 3 guys that can run and hit.  Hamlin does neither.  Let’s stack the box on 1st and 2nd and spy him on 3rd.  Let Lamar beat us in the air. If they score (and they probably will either way) and least it will be quick which also give us more opportunities.

I just don’t want to see a slow death of constant Henry and Jackson runs getting 5-15 yards every play.  I think that’ll happen if Hamlin plays 💯 like he did yesterday.  I think Bishop would be a better option if we go with 2 safeties.

really hope to see Benford-Taron-Rapp-Douglas-Dorian-Bernard-Milano

What percent do you think we need to play in order to win?

Do you think we will win if we play 💯 nickel-dime?

This is a fair question.  I wondered about the idea of sprinkling in some 4-3 with Johnson dealing with a TE and being the in-the-box safety.   We switched things up in a sort of similar way a couple of years ago when we played a lot of Siran Neal and Efe Obada against NE.

I wonder if the bigger question is how to deal with Lamar, however.  I’m a believe in running right at him every time they run read option.  Let’s take the mystery out of it so that there’s no guessing on D where the ball is going in that scenario.   The Henry issue can be dealt with from there.

Yep Justice Hill.

To the should we play more 3 linebacker sets, I'm not against it per se. When you have the personnel to run it: Milano - Bernard - Williams, it can be part of your plan. Why I dislike going too heavy with it is taking Taron Johnson who is one of your best players off the field. I know people say "oh play him as a strong safety" but asking a guy to play a position he has never played for the first time in a playoff game doesn't strike me as smart. I am all for mixing looks up a bit but it is going to come down to execution and fundamentals. Baltimore are going to make plays. Stay patient. Trust your scheme. Play your cues. Maintain your discipline and fundamentals and don't get dragged into playing a Baltimore Ravens football game.

that's exactly what happened to us the first time.  we got away from running cook (as good as baltimore is on D and run D, i think a chunk of it is game script) and just sort of had bad simple drop back plays to over matched guys (kinkaid i think has been banged up too, and shakir was a mess that game).  TY and jimbo along w our tight ends and all of our dirt quads and mess motion formations will take baltimore out of what they want to do (bear front with disguised pressure).

reviewing the prior game, i really think if we can score some TDs early we can distance ourselves from baltimore.  then run like a machine, but they will have false starts and holding putting them behind the sticks.  we can't have cam lewis and our 4th and 5th lbs giving up 15 yards on 3rd and 14

Williams and Spector are a far cry from Bernard and Milano

Do we know the number in the first game? Very different situation now that we have healthy LBs. Just curious.

I also like the idea of taking Hamlin off and keeping Taron on, but is that something we've done before? I don't recall us ever playing 1 safety.

According to Erik in Cover 1, Bills played Base 3 LBs at roughly 25% in the first game.

Baltimore is 10-0 when Henry runs for 100 yards or more and they are  3-5 when he runs for less than 100 yards.

In the last 4 games he’s averaged 158 yards per game and 6.5 yards per carry.

I know Lamar is great, but stopping Henry seems to be the key to stopping Baltimore.

Whatever defensive scheme we can come up with to limit Henry, short of turning Lamar loose, would be the winning game plan.

What that scheme is?….. I have no idea!

This is true.

I also have zero interest in dropping him 20+ yrds off the LOS.

The game looks completely different from back there where traffic and angles become more important than physically attacking your clear primary assignment.

That is not something the Bills are likely to start experimenting with in an elimination game.
