Hollins was trying to get to the end zone where he knew he’d get a reaction from the home town fans. It was his only catch of the game. He was NOT trying to show up or taunt the Denver defender. He high stepped over him and then was giving it the thumb over the shoulder towards Surtain like "what's that joker's problem?" you can't do either of those things. It is taunting. Correct flag thrown. Agree with @DrDawkinstein on the spots. The line judge on the far side from the tv view must have been drunk. He blew at least 4 that I counted. 3 Bills, 1 Broncos. 1 4 Quote

He put his hand on his chest like "my bad" Allen also patted him on the side, which I didn't notice before That was my point, he did say it's pure bad we missed the call. But I also agree he probably wa also warning Allen. From his body language he was being cool about it. 1 Quote

Don Otreply Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago The refs blew at least two of very obvious DPI’s and A ruffing the QB on Josh, they were one legged men in an asz kicking contest at times, 1 1 Quote

His eyes flick to his right to Kincaid at the precise moment that Surtain lets go. I don't know if the side judge could have got involved to help there but when yoi are dealing with humans you are relying on their eyes being in the right place right on cue. It was a blown call but if you don't see it you can't call it. While I do think something that blatant and out in the open shouldn't be missed, you are right. People are human and things get missed. The ref going to Josh at the bench to scold him seems a little weird though. Can't say I have ever seen that happen in over 40 years of watching the NFL. I mean not long ago Mahomes was going ballistic because the Kelce lateral play got called back due to a correct call. I don't recall a ref going over to scold him. Quote

Step normally around him. Not big stepping right over him. He absolutely meant to start taunting him as he got up. And that is ok. 22 minutes ago, Don Otreply said: The refs blew at least two of very obvious DPI’s and A ruffing the QB on Josh, they were one legged men in an asz kicking contest at times, But also no ticky-tack holding calls against us, and no flagging Dion for blatantly illegally pulling/carrying the RB. I'm fine with the refs allowing contact as long as they are letting the guys play through everything else. 1 1 Quote

And that is ok. I mean its not really ok. It seems ok because we blown the team out. If that happened in a tight game and we lose out on a TD over it, then it's not ok. So to me, its never ok. I know players are just having fun but... rules are rules and that type of thing can cost a win. Quote
The 9 Isles Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) What was up with the spotting of the ball? There was at least 5 times in yesterday’s game where the spotted the ball well short of where it actually should have been. . Edited 21 hours ago by The 9 Isles 1 Quote

Personally, considering some of the other stuff they allow, I find that to be a stupid rule but Hollins is a vet who knows better. The game was in hand so it didn't matter but I was still miffed that he cost the Bills a potential TD with his selfishness. It's the playoffs, be more self-aware and buttoned up. Agreed on the second point, as well. There were several horrible spots. The people saying they didn't see any either need to go back and watch the game again or schedule an eye exam. 1 Quote

Honestly, I see that as a professional act of quality officiating. Admittedly, I am imagining the conversation. But, a respectful notification, "Hey 17, you can't behave like that. Tone it down, or you'll be penalized." That would be a case of the referee respecting the players and trying not to impact the game. 1 Quote
