Allen said he was cussing at them and they came over to say you can't do that. He probably did sat something along the lines of we missed the call but he def told Allen to shutup.

Based on Josh's response in the presser it sounds like Josh probably used some choice words which could have resulted in a flag and was warning Josh.  It is also probably true Vinovich found out he had missed the call and may have said that.

The gaslighting by the officials are nuts.  They miss a blatant call and then make a direct initiative to come over to Allen to tell him to not yell at them.

These dudes need to realize they don't have jobs without the players.  These officials act like it's the other way around.  Aint no one paying to see Bill.

It was a bad call.  But I think Vinovich is the best ref in the NFL.  Better to give a warning like that.

He may be the best ref, but the flunkies assisting him were atrocious! I'm not sure if the refs in the next game are going to be any better. Playoff referees, for the most part, are inept.

Im fairness on the replay you see the back judge (who I think was Vinovich himself) has eyes on what's happening right in front. His eyes flick to his right to Kincaid at the precise moment that Surtain lets go. I don't know if the side judge could have got involved to help there but when yoi are dealing with humans you are relying on their eyes being in the right place right on cue. It was a blown call but if you don't see it you can't call it.

Definitely was NOT an apology. Eff the Refs.

Although I do appreciate them keeping the flags in their pockets for the most part yesterday. As long as they are going to let contact go on both sides then I dont mind.

Ref also knew they blew a call.

his body language it was in part.  He put his hand on his chest like  "my bad"

Allen also patted him on the side, which I didn't notice before

There was a lot of missed penalty’s and the ball spots were atrocious first part of the game. Both sides got bad calls or no calls. Glad they apologized for the missed hold but that cannot be missed in a playoff game. If grandpa ref can’t see we’ll get younger refs.

Yeah, combined with Josh’s presser I think it was a combo apology/admonishment. Basically “I didn’t flag you for Unsportsmanlike Conduct because I acknowledge it was a miss call, but I’m not going to cut you that slack again.”

I can see that chest pat being a "I have a job to do and you cant talk to us refs like that or else I'll have to throw a flag"

More of a friendly "Dont make me call a penalty on you"

I don’t remember a single poor spotting of the ball?  I’m pretty sure they’re getting assistance from above on that these days.

I actually have less of a problem with the missed calls than I do with the ridiculous penalties that they DO call. The unsportsmanlike penalty against Hollins was ludicrous! Players do not care about some ticky tack nonsense that a middle aged part time insurance management dude thinks is important to whistle.

There were a bunch of bad ones. There was one I specifically remember where Ty Johnson got a short yardage 1st down and they spotted it a full yard back. They were all over the place with spots yesterday.

Ehh, the refs need to stop it from getting too chippy. What Mack did was illegal and worth a flag. I dont mind him doing it or getting the flag, we need to have more of that attitude on the field. But it is a penalty by the book and will get called, especially in a game where tempers are already flaring.

I obviously completely disagree. Hollins was trying to get to the end zone where he knew he’d get a reaction from the home town fans. It was his only catch of the game. He was NOT trying to show up or taunt the Denver defender.
