Has Bills D turned the corner with Milano back to almost normal?

Last 2 games...against Jets, allowed 0 points with starters in and against Broncos allowed 7...

 

Jets had under 200 yards of offense, Broncos end up with 224 yards of offense(only 157 after the first drive)

 

This is boding very, VERY well heading into next week if Milano is in fact the lynchpin for this defensive turnaround, which watching live game action, it appears he is...dude was all over the field today...

He was very noticeable today.  Saw flashes of the “old Milano” for sure.  When he’s on, we are definitely a different defense

The Ravens offense is going to be hard to stop just in general.  We just need him to make a few big stops and would be huge.  
 

Not just a big 3rd down stop, something like its 2nd and 7 and he reads a play well, makes the big tackle at the LOS and its 3rd and 7 instead of 3rd and 2.  
I feel with Lamar and Henry, if its less than 3rd and 3….they’re picking it up every time.  Keep them 3rd and long.

I was talking to my buddy during the game on the phone (as per tradition) and I said the one play early where Milano ran somebody down was the most encouraging thing I'd seen so far.  I'll rewatch later this week, but were they taking Milano off the field for obvious passing downs or something else?  I saw him come off but can't remember when.  He used to be a 3 down guy.

 

Baltimore is going to be really tough to stop, we need all the help we can get.

The Broncos had the 17th ranked rushing offense. Baltimore is #1. If we can just keep Henry under 100yds. In all 5 of their losses, he had less than 100yds. We can't let them run all over us. We also need to keep a spy on Lamar, similarly to the way we did with Nix today until the game was in hand.

Does anyone have stats of Derrick Henry vs a Sean McDermott defense?

 

Also, control the clock and keep the other offense off the field. It does wonders for a suspect defense.

I seem to recall what limited success we had against Baltimore earlier this year was on run blitzes.  I think we were attacking more for a couple series.  Milano should be good at that if we go that way next week.

The D is completely healthy this time.  Got to get the job done.  Focus on Henry and force Jackson to beat you through the air.

This is a fair question, but I think getting Smoot, Douglas, Hamlin and Rapp back healthy might have been a bigger factor.

And who is normally a replacement level player in the playoffs...

They haven't done terrible overall....a few games they really bottled him up and a few times he got us.

I loved that they were lining Milano up as a defensive lineman and then using him as a spy. That’s how we beat Lamar in the playoffs in 2020

Milano has been back to himself the last two games he played - Jets and today. And he is still one of our best players. So of course he helps. 

 

Fingers crossed it continues.

we will see. All week I stressed rookie qb in the road with limited weapons against the mvp. 
 

if not for KC sitting guys, Denver would’ve been like the 8/9 seed on the strength of their defense. 
 

im not all in on the hype of the momentum from beating KC
