Nihilarian Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago The Buffalo Bills won a playoff game 31-7 and some fans still complain about stuff! BTW, good luck pulling Josh Allen at the start of the 4th quarter when all he needs to do is hand off mostly. Besides it takes away the threat of the QB running. Anyway, I know I wouldn't want Mitch out there at that point. 1 Quote

appoo Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Let me ask this question. This bills skill weapons, we have two of the best at their position in Shakir and Cook. Everyone else is probably good at best, with maybe the best set tackles in the league. So there’s good talent there. Given that, when Josh Allen is playing well is there a scheme or defense in the entire league that contain or even slow down much less stop that offense? Why is there an expectation that when you have talented offenses led by HOF level QBs who are playing well, that McDermott should have a scheme capable of containing or even slow down much less stopping them? In the playoffs against great offenses, the barometer is not going to be how well you stop them. It’s if you can create the occasional opportunities to create an opening for your own HOF QB to take advantage of. A punt here and there, stopping them for FGs, a rare turnover…that’s what you hope for. Edited 7 hours ago by appoo Quote

If he’s zoning out then we don’t have a hope in hell of containing him, and there’s not a defense in the league that can, I don’t care how good you are at scheming. At that point you’re just hoping Josh Allen is on one and you just create an 1-2 openings that you capitalize on, and the ravens defense is gonna hope for the same thing Quote
Buffalo Ballin Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Today's playoff win vs. Denver Broncs is not the game to criticize McDermott. We allowed 7 points. Only 1 TD. In a playoff game. That's great. I mean, most of it is Josh Allen, James Cook, our O-line, and Brady controlling the ball on offense to make our defense look good, but whatever. Tony Romo TRIED to unravel our nerves during the game when Broncs scored that TD bomb early in the game. Didn't work because that score was way too early. We had a long way to go, remember? There is still 4 Quarters to play. We blew out the Broncs. In a playoff game; pure domination. Josh Allen didn't commit any turnovers and he had great game management. He's poised. He's calm. Those are GREAT signs of a Champion. He didn't show that in prior seasons. Let's see next weekend vs. Ravens. In OUR HOUSE. On our field. We got demolished by the Ravens earlier in the season. The odds of the Ravens dominating us AGAIN are extremely low. That's where we can see if McDermott can keep his stupid decisions in check. - We cannot let Ravens score first and Derrick Henry run crazy. 3 defenders should be hitting Derrick Henry every time he touches the ball. - Josh Allen, James Cook, O-line, Kincaid, Shakir, Knox, and Amari Cooper have to eat the clock on offense. - Minimize penalties Quote

They’re not because the Ravens have two great TEs, a pair of really good WRs (assuming Zay Flowers is healthy) and a QB who’s faster than any backer in the league while ALSO being absolutely deadly from the pocket They’re gonna need Taron Johnson and Matt Milano and Terel Bernard to have the best takes of their lives Edited 7 hours ago by appoo Quote

Buffalo had 213 yards on the ground.. Playing the TOP game is not a bad idea, it’s smart football and great game planning and it’s something we need to do next week to beat the Ravens, but call it for what it is.. Had the Broncos had the ball more, the score would be a lot closer.. Quote

Nice try. 213 yards on the ground is a colossal effort by our running attack.. Controlling the TOP is great game planning by Allen/Joe Brady and co.. New England did this all the time by Belichick/Tom Brady.. It would probably be a good idea to take Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry off of the field as much as possible… just saying. 1 1 Quote

Why is this a criticism? Because it hasn't worked. It gives the offense time to regroup as well. It makes sense in theory but experience has shown it hasn't helped. 1 Quote

Nihilarian Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I can't even imagine what this board would look like if McD had replaced Josh Allen at the start of the 4th quarter and Trubisky came in...fumbles or throws an INT. That turnover gives Denver momentum and it's a different game. Bills fan rage at McD would be biblical... Quote
