I'll say that I kept hearing about how great Payton is and how amazing Nix looked down the stretch and how the Broncos liked to attack the short routes that give the Bills trouble.

This was the best defensive playoff performance in the McDermott/Allen era IMO. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to have the script completely flipped this year. Poor in the regular season but stout in the playoffs.

I mean today was a big game. It was a playoff game. If we lost, the season was over. Many had the Broncos winning today. Payton is an elite offensive mind. Nix came into the game playing as well as any QB in the league and trending.

Go look at 2021 Colts at Bills wild card and 2023 Dolphins at Bills wild card games for support.

I will say that while the D played great, this heavy TOP by the O really was half the battle today, keeping our own D off the field. 
 

Need the same strategy next week.

Today was a great job by the defense. Im the first guy to kill the D, I’ll make sure I’m right here to say thank you and to appreciate them when they deserve it. The only way we are going to win a superbowl is if the defense steps up. Today is step one of four. Great job. Let’s keep at it

You conveniently leave out the abysmal divisional round losses.  Genius.  Most people who have voiced their displeasure take issue with the proverbial divisional round losses. Don’t get it twisted. A win next weekend would go a long way in silencing his detractors.

Can’t get to the divisional round without winning the wild card. Defense was elite today. Defense has not played well in the past wild card games. Can you accept it?

Of course. And I can’t disagree with your points posted above.  However let’s pump the brakes and see how the defense plays next week before we start declaring that McDermott has exercised the demons.
