Dr.Mantis_Toboggan Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If this defense plays solid fundamental football, I just don’t see a path to victory for the Ravens. They are incredibly one dimensional right now without Flowers healthy, and the bitter cold is only going to magnify his loss when you’re relying on Lamar to just make something happen in the pass game. 1 1 2 Quote

Magox Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I've been gaining optimism throughout the week and I think that has to do with what some of the players are saying and what the national media and Ravens players been saying as well. There is no doubt in mind that the team is hearing what's been said out to the media or from them and how the Bills are not going to be able to handle this running game and that they are all going to have a big chip on their shoulder. I saw how Rasul and Oliver reacted to the Denver Post game, and I just think the Bills are going to be prepared from a mental standpoint. And this response from McDermott is perfect. Look at the intensity in his face, he's taking this game personally and he's tired of hearing it as well. The effort and the heart will be there from the players and coaches, I just hope the game plans both offensively and defensively are better than the Ravens and that Josh balls out. 1 2 Quote

dgrochester55 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) When Baltimore won last week, I was worried. Baltimore is the team that I have felt like we match up the worst with. I remembered the first game and how our weaknesses were exposed by their strengths. However, after seeing how they handled Denver, I realized that the team has come a long way and found themselves since then. I think that Buffalo can win this if they contain the run and force them to beat us with the pass. I also believe that the winner of this game is also the winner of the Super Bowl. Pete Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Pro tailgating tip- most Bill Mafia already knows. We like to pack thermos's with hot soup(chowder, broth, etc). As we unpack, and set up, we sip on hot soup. The warm soup hits the spot and helps warm you up Quote

Moral of the story? Media and talking heads know no better than us fans. Go Bills!! Quote

But since we're coming from out of town and don't have portable grill, etc. we'll just bring food and adult beverages. All that said, the Thermos idea sounds excellent, so maybe we'll add that in to the plan! Go Bills!! Quote

I’ve actually been quite calm about this game, perhaps it’s the quiet calm coming out of OBD? That clip with McDermott’s answer “we’ll see” is a perfect example. Makes me feel like the Bills have something figured out. 2 Quote

The color of the ravens jersey is going to be a bigger factor than the weather.... When we played the ravens in week 4 they wore their black jerseys. This week they will be wearing their white jerseys . You may be asking why would that matter? Well.. Lamar and Henry are black. When lamar cradles the brown ball into his arm on read option plays it's a lot more difficult to tell whether he pulled the ball back or gave it to Henry when the ball blends into their all black jerseys. And thats the end of my Ted Talk. 🤯 Quote

To me it’s whether or not the game plans on both sides of the ball will be better than theirs and if Josh balls out and plays an MVP sort of game. I think how the Bills’ Offense fairs against the Ravens’ Defense (vice versa, if you prefer) is the wild card in this game. It’s kind interesting how nearly ALL of the game discussion this week has been centered on how, or even if, the Bills’ D can stop Lamar and Henry. Pundits are using those analyses as the backbone to their argument for the Ravens winning. So do they just assume that they’re going to shut down the Bills’ Offense? That seems ridiculous. Not even the Chiefs shut our offense down. If this, or any game, becomes a shoot out, back and forth score fest… the Bills have proven they can hang with anyone! It’s genuinely surprising to me how little people have talked about the matchup in terms of how the Ravens are going to stop Josh Allen. Conversely, there’s been ample discussion about how we won’t stop Henry and Lamar. While I’m not one of those predicting a blowout or we keep Henry hemmed in and under 70yds. I do have confidence in the Bills. Why? Well, that Eric Whatever his name is guy on Cover1 (/s) laid out the way they run their option play and the best way to defend it; along with the trap plays they run. Then you have the BB clip talking the same stuff. What gives me confidence is the Ed Oliver interview where he states they pulled out some of the trap runs in week 4 and took him out. He’s ready for that now. So it seems to me… the Bills have done their homework. They know what the Ravens want to do and they how to defend it (and they have the proper players starting to actually execute). The only 2 questions that really remain are: (1) will the Bills players actually be disciplined and strong enough at the point of attack to keep those runs in check? And (2) how will the Ravens adapt, if the Bills succeed at keeping the run game in check? I don’t think we can just disregard Lamar as a passer. He has the stats this year that indicate he’s pretty good throwing the ball. In fact it won’t surprise me if they come out passing heavy early. So the secondary needs to be ready for when they adapt and try to get some cheap passes. But, again, I’m confident the Bills will be ready. I think there’s every reason to believe we can hold their offense to 20-28 point range. So, then the wild card becomes… can the Ravens stop Josh from scoring 30+ points? We’ll see, I guess. 3 1 Quote
