We just cant come out believing that they wont be prepared for it. Their goal is to hit us in the mouth early and cruise with runs by Henry, their FB and Lamar to burn clock. We just have to hit them hard, early and often to make them second guess playing that smash mouth style that they are accustomed to. Get a 2- score cushion and dont play the soft zone once we do get a lead. I dont personally believe that they are going to run heavy in the beginning. They know that we are hyper focused on stopping the run, so they are going to go pass heavy early. Worse for them than the cold is our crowd if they are into it. Ravens take a lot of penalties. Hopefully our crowd helps them take some presnap penalties this week. Some bad snaps, fumbled balls. Our crowd can help do all of that. 5 hours ago, Coffeesforclosers said: Baltimore was doing their best to acclimate. It was 33 in Maryland and they were practicing with the field house doors wide open and fans blowing the cold in. Shame for them it will be Carhartt Thermals+Ski Mask and Hat Cold up here. scuba suit is also a good form of protection. 1 1 Quote

Coach Horton is misinformed and an optimist at heart I guess, so good for him and his ST players. It should be duly noted that the Bills do, in fact, provide heated benches for the opposition to sit on while Josh and the boys go up and down the field on their way to a 3 score winning differential. Not meaning to dunk on Dorian but I think he is still "progressing" in learning his role as an off-ball LB and asking him to learn to be a safety would be a "Bridge too Far". As I commented in another thread, against NE in the 2nd game a couple years back, the Bills started taking out a CB (Dane Jackson) and substituting Siran Neal in a kind of variant of a "dime" defense. Jackson was 5 11 and 180 lbs, Neal was 6 ft 206 lbs and could bring the wood. He was also said by a fast WR to be "the fastest guy on the Bills roster". Neal was the backup nickel as well as the dime back, and they had him playing on the boundary some in training camp, so they could bring him in for more "Umph" in the backfield without losing too much in pass coverage. And it worked. I'm not sure if the Bills 1) have a guy on the roster right now who can fill that role though, or 2) if it's a need with this lineup. Rasul Douglas and Christian Benford are both 6'1", 6'2" 210 lb ish CBs. As long as they bring it and don't make "career decisions" we should be OK. It's possible we see Bishop instead of Hamlin. I hear you. I wasn't so much thinking Williams is trying to play safety. More like they are playing a 4-3 with 3 CB's and 1 safety in the defensive backfield. Probably a lot of man defense. Obviously this is only when the Ravens are in a clear running formation. I recall the Siran Neal usage example. Note: I know almost nothing about the X's and O's...I have just watched football for coming up on 5 decades so it's truly a fat guy on his couch opinion here. Bills will lose if Henry goes over 100 IMO But I don’t think the Bills will! You realize that having 4 yards per carry doesnt literally mean he is getting 4 yards every time he touches the ball. He could break one for 60 yards and then get stuffed the rest of the game. 1 1 Quote
