transplantbillsfan Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago This whole Zay Flowers thing seems like gamesmanship on Harbaugh's part. Didn't practice all week including today other than a small little workout. If he plays, seems like he'll be a bit hobbled. Maybe we actually want him to play in that case. 1 1 Quote
Beast Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Besides just making a tackle, the Bills really have to try to punch out the ball against Jackson and Henry. Not just for the potential turnover but also getting punched in the arms and hands can be extremely painful when it is frigid. 2 Quote
boyst Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago no one is talking about our offense. the more i dive into it i want to talk about it more. humphrey playing solid at nickel vs. outside i think is huge. shakir may be limited to his effectiveness but mixing kincaid and knox in there against him could be nice. get the ball otuside and run at humphrey. It's not disrespectful to say that, but it's more in keeping with a discussion board if you put a little more into it like, why that's your belief. I'm not saying I think it's likely, but I think, meaning no disrespect, that Hamlin can totally get trucked by Henry especially as the game wears on. If it comes down to Henry is killing us and Flowers isn't playing, I think it's possible. Edited 5 hours ago by Beck Water Quote

I have a feeling that if Alec Anderson had his arm amputated, he would be out there playing and swinging that amputated arm like a baseball bat at an opponent. 2 Quote

Erik Turner is a former college player and HS coach/scout who started a Bills-centered media company called "Cover 1" with the goal of "making the X's and O's of football more accessible to fans". Part of his goal was to help continue to grow his own knowledge of the game. He's also really gotten into analytics of recent years. We have a couple of guys posting here (not often enough) who are better X's and O's guys and better evaluators of play, but in general, Turner knows something and his stuff is worth watching. 2 2 Quote

I also remember talk that the Bills had spent a bunch of time on him pre-draft that year and really liked him. The Bills draft visit researchers at the time had him on the short list of guys to keep on eye on, based on the Bills interest in him. The Bills closest pick to Crosby was Dawson Knox, who they selected in the 3rd round. Crosby went in the 4th, and the Bills didn't have another pick until well after Crosby was gone. It's fun to imagine an alternate timeline where the Bills had drafted Crosby, but I think the only way it realistically could've happened is if they had taken him instead of Dawson Knox. Crosby has also sought help for alcoholism and has been in recovery for a few years now. Admirable thing as hard to do, especially for a celebrity or professional athlete. 3 1 Quote

Exactly which is why I said I didn’t know he was a genius, thanks for letting me know he, in fact, is. i agree anyway I think we win by 2-3 TDs Quote

The Ravens will 4 yards per carry it to the endzone if that's really the desired outcome If you google Erik Turner Cover 1, this is the top hit. https://www.cover1.net/about-cover-1/ He's pretty well known in the Bills fan community and certainly on this bulletin board. The point of limiting the average ypc is, it's an average. Henry is gonna get his. But if breaks a couple of long runs that skew the average and the average is 4 ypc, it means he's being stuffed enough of the time to get his team off the field. 1 Quote

No, I wouldn't call Turner a genius but he does know ball most of the time. Quote
Allen2Moulds Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I just saw a video posted by Dan Orlovsky, of the 6 oline, 2TE and FB offense. We can probably count Ricard as oline number 7. Pitt for some reason, even with 0 WR's on the field, playing 2 high, and a 3rd defender, pretty far back as well. With that look, we wouldn't you implement a goal line defense. Dan O, even says, that the O is basically a goaline offense formation. I've also seen a lot of discussion about playing Dorian, at the expense of Taron. We need to have a package that puts our 11 best defensive players on the field against the Ravens. I would rather had look with Taron over Hamlin. I understand that Taron is not a safety, but the defense is all about zones. I think we get stuck on titles a little too much at times. 1 Quote
YoloinOhio Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Todays national sports media would have you believe only miracles will lead to the Bills beating a team that somehow lost 5 times this year, two of those to teams drafting top 5 this year. 1 1 3 Quote

It feels like one of those weeks where we talk about how bad the another teams running game is and then they break records on the ground. Or we talk all week about how bad the other teams pass defense is and we only complete 12 out of 40 attempts. I know it's not alway that way. I'm nervous about the smokescreen and then all a sudden he's bustin Huge plays for multiple TDs. Where's the wood? Quote

Bills will lose if Henry goes over 100 IMO But I don’t think the Bills will! Quote
PoundingDog Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I am buying into the theory that the Bills D may not be as bad as they showed in the regular season, like the first Ravens game. Part of it is injury - we never had Milano looking as good as he was in the Denver game, and throughout the year, we had different people out, but for this Sunday, we are at full strength. Other part is effort that is tied to urgency. A large part of the defensive play is effort, not just on Sundays, but Monday thru Saturday as well. For a unit that is kind of shamed on TV and radio throughout the week, I think the guys will put max effort in. If I have to guess, I'd say the D comes out Sunday night on fire, and McDermott and Babich unveil some new wrinkles to catch Jackson and Henry by surprise a bit. But the talent gap is still there. In the 2nd half, they adjusted and starting to take it to us, like everyone expected. So here is the tricky part. Can the offense go full blast while the defense has its way? If we put a couple of scores on them and ahead as much, it could change the whole game. If, like the last Ravens game that it takes the 2nd half for the offense to hit its stride, then we are back to square one on a tight game. 2 1 Quote

Groot coming off a strong game is encouraging too. Quote
zow2 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago It’s a beautiful, sunny, windless 42 degrees near Baltimore this afternoon. I’m walking my dog, no jacket required. I hope the Ravens are getting in a nice outdoor practice… and thinking man, we are really acclimating to the chilly conditions. We are gonna be ready for that Orchard Park weather! 1 4 Quote
