Miyagi-Do Karate Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago 44 minutes ago, Tanoros said: For clarification he actually says that the Ravens played very little 11 personnel. They played with 6 o-linemen 22% of the time, and he didn’t say how often Richard was out there when in a 6 o-linemen formation. He also stated the Steelers allowed just over 3 yards a play when they had 3 db’s on the field, and 4.1 yards per play with 4 db’s on the field, however they gave up over 9 yards per play with 5 db’s on the field. They Steelers played 5 db’s just under 50% of the time. Sounds like we need a plan to counter when the Ravens go heavy with 6 o-linemen and/or bring Ricard out. We should have an idea how to play 6 o-linemen because the Bills led the league during the regular season in that formation. Thanks for sharing the video. Thanks for clarifying. I was rushing through it, and was going to go back to listen to it fully later. We have to play heavy when they go heavy. The killer there though is Andrews and likely. Much like we kill teams throwing out of the 6-lineman grouping! Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) The bills are literally the 2007 Patriots at home this year. 9-0 They not only have the better QB, they have the far better playoff QB It could also be almost 0° Sunday evening. The ravens being favored makes no sense to me. It's weird Edited 16 hours ago by Kelly to Allen Quote

It started with the Bills -1 and probably the Ravens were getting a lot of play, so they moved it to Ravens -1 to balance the bet pool. Edited 16 hours ago by WotAGuy Quote

I'll just say this: Top rated defenses are not what they used to be. We have rolled up several top rated Defenses this year. Broncos. Lions. Chiefs. I believe going into the perfect game ( v pats) the pats had a top D. In his career, Josh has been outstanding against great top 10 Ds especially in the playoffs. Our own D has been top 10 in recent years and been exploited. Good offenses just exploit them too often.....and the Bills are a very good offense. Edited 15 hours ago by RichRiderBills 2 2 Quote
Success Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Derrick Henry is like the Brady of RB's. Dude is 31. That is OLD for a RB. All season, I downplayed this potential match-up, because I was sure he would start to slow down as the season progressed and he'd look his age by the playoffs. And instead, he looked as good as ever this past Saturday. We've had such a hard time stopping him in the past. I hope McD & Babich can come up w/ something this time - just keeping him under 100 would be big. 1 2 Quote

It’s not 8 guys in the box and him hoping someone is open it’s him extending plays. the ravens have one win when Lamar doesn’t have a 114 passer rating and that was the last game of the season also 82 (81.8%) of Henry’s yards are when the game is level or the ravens have a lead. Sorry. But nobody can claim that having a future HOF running back with over 1900 (!!!!) yards rushing isn't affecting the coverages Lamar Jackson is facing every game. QB ratings don't account for the heavy boxes, bigger personnel, the slowed pass rush, and all the other elements that factor into having Derrick Henry in the backfield. They are just an equation that tries to compile all of his passing stats. We all know that Jackson had great stats this year. But numbers alone don't make this an all-time historically great year. Maybe you didn't notice the Wild Card game just a few days ago, where the Steelers edge rushers were crashing down to tackle the running back EVERY SINGLE TIME on read-option plays. After playing the Ravens twice earlier in the season, one of the top defenses in the league felt their best chance of success was stopping Henry first. Not Jackson. I can absolutely guarantee that Buffalo's gameplan will also be to TRY shutting down the run early, turning Baltimore into a one-dimensional passing team, and forcing Jackson to beat them solely with his arm. That is not the way NFL defenses usually approach a game against a QB who just had the "4th Best Season" in NFL history. 6 1 Quote

This year- the reason he’d be winning is he’s stats? How does that make sense? Your team added Derrick Henry and your team lost 2 additional games. You have 8 pro bowlers other than Lamar. Meanwhile Josh’s “team got worse” and had 2 more wins than last season- the one negative aspect in his game- interceptions- was turned into a positive. Josh has 1 pro bowler along side of him. Meanwhile his team is hosting Lamar’s in the playoffs and Lamar has more talent around him. Most VALUABLE player- not the player who had the best season statistically. Josh is the most valuable- there is no doubt. But I’m glad Josh isn’t going to win the award. More fuel to his fire. I now move Ravens fans ahead of KC fans as the MLFB (Most Loathable Fan Base). KC fans have a reason to be the way they are, they have won numerous SB's over the past decade. Ravens fans have a media MVP and act as if they have had so much success with Lamar. I can recall going over to their board(s) just to see the reaction after we beat them in the playoffs and most were onboard with letting Lamar go. Hes always hurt, hes a rusher first and not a true passer, now he's the best QB in the history of the NFL if you let them tell the story. I want to beat them worse than KC now! 4 1 1 1 Quote
RobbRiddick Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago One thing I'd definitely do if I was McD is, if they win the coin toss, don't defer. Take the ball and try and get the first score. Make them play from behind right away. 1 2 2 Quote

The snow would force him to be a passer. Keying in Henry without Lamar's running threat is a much easier task. Plus Lamar hates the cold. Wait until you see how bundled up he will be. It’s hysterical that they were saying that out of one side of their mouth, and then selling us on Lamar Jackson as MVP out of the other side. 1 Quote

Also, scoring 7 points on the first drive is not going to bring them out of their run game. And Also also, if you happen to stop their first drive you are at a huge advantage. Now you can score first and still get the double dip. The only time I would want to take the ball first is if the weather was decent at start of game but expected to be bad soon. It's simple really (and I kind of don't care now as the MVP talk has become insane, but...) ask any DC in the league who you need to stop on the Ravens' offense and 100% of them will answer "Henry and Lamar". Ask them who they have to stop on the Bills and 100% of them are saying "Allen". Cook is a good back but I don't believe for a second he keeps DC's up at night. That pretty much sums the whole thing up for me. 2 1 1 Quote

Meaning they weren't worried about game planning for the run game. Quote
