When in the Red Zone, yes go for it on short. We wont beat the Ravens playing like that. Our offensive scheme seemed very vanilla when we got to the Red Zone.

So over the past month they have played great against ***** offences. Some might think same D, weak opponent. You believe the turned the corner though. Looked like it in the second half when the Steelers starting throwing the ball. 🙄

Yea I believe the sharps are early mostly…sometimes you hear a story of a huge bet coming in late if the public drove a line way in the wrong direction m but there’s more action from them early on 

 

even sharps though are only right a little more than half the time they’re just right a little more than half the time in a huge sample size

Different era. Those are not bad numbers for the era. He was a three time pro bowler and MVP in 1979. He led the league in passing TDs twice. And then he did a lot in the playoffs, too.

 

He isn't the greatest ever, but he was a good QB.

Fans today don't understand how much different it was.  QBs were thumped and WRs were being pushed all the way down the field.

Interesting breakdown by Steelers’ film guy, and a very cautionary tale for us. Listen around 9 minute mark. Two takeaways: 

 

1) Ravens were basically in 11 personnel with an extra offensive lineman (plus Ricard) for a ton of the game. 
 

2) Steelers played nickel a ton out of those sets, and were gashed for over 9 yards per play. (When Steelers went heavy, they stopped them).

Jim Rome is awful. Hells at callers or never lets them speak then just makes fun or name calls them

It was the hardest era to play QB. You got murdered on almost every play. Receivers were held and grabbed all the way down the field and then murdered if they got anywhere near the ball. Games were being routinely won 9 to 3. It was just a brutal era for offense.

I definitely wouldn't call myself a fan, but I was entertained, as far as A.M. radio goes.

 

It's been years since I listened. His radio show partially lined up with my lunch break at the job I worked at the time.
