I don’t think it will be a revelation that the Bills employ some coverages that include the use of a spy.  Personally, and I don’t think it will be happen but they should disguise the coverages that will use spies which I imagine will be primarily used in man to man coverages and disguise it by not just using 1 spy throughout the game but to switch it up and have all 3 LB’s and even Taron switching throughout the game.

More unpredictable for the offense to see and adjust to.

Buffalo during the regular season beat 8 teams with 8 wins or more. Including both number one seeds. This is again pretty historical

For reference again, the 91 Washington team had 9 wins vs teams with 8 wins or more. Many metrics/ analytics say that the 91 Washington team is the greatest season ever if you can measure dominance statistically along with the eye test.

Washington that year scored 30 or more pts 8x

They only allowed two possessions or less of scores 8x

Buffalo has scored 30 points 12x this year

They have only allowed two possessions or less of scores 6x. Again this is historically great.

Washington in 91 allowed 9 sacks the entire year

Buffalo has allowed 14 sacks all year while slightly passing more. Again this is a historic power/ dominance metric

Buffalo with most of their starters and these metrics go up even higher obviously.

Wow. And to do all of that in the early 1990's. They were decades ahead of their time offensively.

Cosell seems to think Milano will be used as the spy.

That's what he did last week and was very effective with certain formations. But, the Ravens have a counter, I'm sure.

I wonder if the Bills will defend the read option by crashing down on Henry like Pittsburgh did, but have a spy on Jackson like Milano, forcing LJ to beat the Bills consistently with his arm, which I don't think he can do.

Vegas has the Ravens favored next week in Kansas city, too. Geez.

It'll end up sounding stupid if we lose, but they are being overrated big time right now.

They have us as 1.5 point underdogs.

Nothing wrong with that.

The closer we get to kickoff the more confident I’m feeling.

No matter the outcome, this is one of the more enjoyable seasons I can remember.

Is this guy a chiefs troll or ravens troll?

Pittsburgh’s approach was made to look downright silly by the Ravens in short order.  They took their best defender out of the play from the jump, by design.  I would certainly hope the Bills do not copy that.  Rushing them blindly is not likely to work.  Controlling their gaps is and allowing the LBs to fill is probably the better approach on run downs.  Outside blitzes against the run could work as well given Henry is really not a major threat to turn the corner.  The key though to me is those 4 lineman holding the point of attack.

My conclusion had been that he’s a Dolphins troll.  Joined TBD the week of the Dolphins matchup this year and then leading up to the 49ers game, was harping on the Bills trying to avoid weather games like how the playoff against the Steelers last year needed to be moved.

Rewatching the week 4 game, I like what Dorian Williams put on tape, aside from when Hill froze him for the TD. Spector, Morrow, and Lewis were even worse than I remember and BAL scored TDs on their first 3 drives. Bills from the start of the game lacked urgency on both sides of the ball, I thought, especially on offense. Spencer Brown had easily his worst game of the year. Eager to see how the entire team comes out this week after all the chatter has been about how they’re so inferior.

That would exactly be my gameplan.  Stop Henry 1st then spy Milano on Lamar. Clog the middle of the field and force 8 to throw at the boundaries. If he beats us that way, then tip your hat.

All I know is that if Josh takes over this game, the MVP voters have to feel stupid. Giving a QB 3 MVPs and all pros when the dude hasnt made the superbowl and has only made 1 AFCCG. They made that by default for getting the 1 seed.

I’d love to see it. The talking heads surmised that Jackson wouldn’t win another MVP, no matter how deserving, until he won a SB.

Is Milano fast enough to be the spy on Lamar though?  I wonder if we’d need someone with more speed as the spy, like Dorian or Bishop.  I know Milano is quick and has great instincts, but Lamar might be able to run right by Milano in open field.

Jackson is not the biggest problem.

Gruden pointed out that Roquan Smith gave Spencer Brown a lot of trouble in the first matchup.

The ‘91 Redskins were the best team the Bills faced in their 4 Super Bowl appearances. As good as the Cowboys teams were ( they were all superior to the Bills except the Giants in SB XXV)that Redskins team was one for the ages. Oddly enough, a Bills/ Lions Super Bowl was possible that year , as Detroit and Washington squared off in the Title tilt. Is this the year that matchup actually happens ?

This is absolutely how I feel. This was supposed to be a soft rebuild year. Think about what we are going to look like in a few more years. I really think 26-27 is all Bills.

now onto Ravens, you guys all know football way better than I do. But with the cold/snowy weather coming into Buffalo, you would assume it's going to be a more run heavy game for the Ravens no?

if we can hold possession of the ball and run that clock, keep Lamar and Henry cold and on the sidelines
