Bills vs Ravens Divisional Round

This may seem counterintuitive for the Bills defense but the best way to stop the Ravens is to play well on 1st and 2nd down. Any time a team has stopped a Ravens drive its because they got them in a 3rd and long look. I have also seen a couple coaches that played the Ravens say that was key to stopping their offense, to not let them stay ahead of the chains.

Flowers is mid anyway. All their receivers get wide open from the run action. When Nelson Aghalor is out there without a guy 8 yards around him, you know it’s not really about the receiver. 

 

I disagree about Flowers but the rest I agree with.

That means Hochuli, Clete Blakeman, Ron Torbert amongst others are eligible to ref the Divisional round. I don’t want Hochuli and would probably prefer Blakeman

I totally agree with getting a lead early, preferably 2 scores, and forcing Lamar to throw to the sidelines.  In planning for this game I would say, if this game looks like its gonna be a shootout, I would treat every drive like its 4 down territory, unless its an obvious punt or fg situation.  That will help keep up with the Ravens, but it also gives the offense a more confident mindset that they have 4 downs to get a first instead of 3.  You need to be aggressive and if this game is high scoring, we're probably going for a lot of 4th downs, unless we're really good on downs 1 - 3.

Any news on Marlon Humphrey's availability for Sunday?  He left the Steelers game with an arm/shoulder injury but there isn't much info available on the severity. (to be fair though i'm not on X/Facebook etc so not scouring all potential sources).

Josh is going to get screwed out of MVP once again.  Last year Josh put up better numbers, but they said Lamar meant more to his team and awarded him MVP.  This year, Lamar has slightly better numbers, and because of that, he is first team all pro, and it doesnt matter that Josh means more to the Bills.  They keep moving goalposts, to screw Josh.

 

The best revenge, and Josh and the Bills know this, smash the Ravens, smash the Chiefs, smash the Lions, and MVP voters can go ***** themselves!

The bills turf doesn’t hurt when you fall on it. Theres a bunch of rubber pellets that cushion your fall. Now if it was the field they had in the 90s sure.

I didn’t watch a ton of the ravens this year but flowers was my WR1 in fantasy and all I know is I never had a reason to not start him all year, he consistently performed. He’s a big loss if he can’t go for them this week bc although their TE are strong, the rest of those WR are jags

I said it the other night in the Ravens/steelers thread, but the bills can't over persue on defense Imo. The Ravens o line seems to immediately lock everyone up right from the snap. Which is why I think Henry is so effective, or at least partly why. Bills are gonna have to be at their best. No clock management issues, no coaching blunders, no special team woes. Josh is gonna have to be an alien. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the predator kinda alien.... Whatever that means

Couple things.......

 

1) King Henry will certainly get his yards against us, there's really no way of denying him, however, we need to focus on the middle and bottle him up for minimal yardage

 

2) i'm wondering whether we try to force feed Cook and set the tone with our running game and give the Ravens a little bit of, "you have a running game?.......we've got a little of our own".

 

3) It seems that we will not have an easy path to the SB. We'll have to run through the gauntlet of Baltimore and KC, however, when the Bills are "on", they are unstoppable and i truly believe this

 

4) The Bills/Ravens will be an all-out slugfest from beginning to end with neither team willing to concede any advantage in any way to the other.......we need to win TOP, the trenches and the TO battle
