Good hire. Could have them ready to compete in the division as soon as 2026 but 2027 is more likely.

Turnarounds can happen fast in the NFL.  I think they’ll be competitive immediately if Maye continues to develop.

Did I miss a Rooney rule interview candidate?

Every team is interviewing Byron Leftwitch, who is currently out of football, to satisfy the Rooney Rule and move quickly.

Aaron Glenn who is interviewing with a lot of teams, refused to interview with NE because he knew it was a sham so they could move quickly on Vrabel.  Too bad there were other guys willing to interview for a job they had no shot at.  Big respect for Glenn, no respect for Leftwich.

Leftwich is the new Dennis Green.  He although a proven head coach did a bunch of these types of interviews to satisfy the rooney rule.

Think this is a great hire for the Pats and bad for us. Patriots teams will be well coached going forward. However, I would rather have Vrabel as their coach than Ben Johnson. Vrabel is a very solid HC but I don’t think an elite one.

Ben Johnson us an unknown quantity. But if he were to have success like they do as an offensive unit in Detroit that could get rough. So I’m glad BJ didn’t get hired by NE

There won't be any form of a turnaround that matters. This team will suck for 30 years

Sure, anything you say…

As good a coach, as he is, the management has not changed, and they haven’t had a great draft, outside of a quarterback, and the past three seasons. He will make a difference, but it’s not going to be a fast fix. I wonder if they will stay patient with him

There is literally no logic in this statement. Belicheck is a great coach but struggled greatly in the FO role, especially later in his career.  Wait and see how Wolf's draft looks in a year or 2, and see how they do this year.  The team was short on talent due to Belicheck.

Guy deserved to coach last year.  Titans screwed up by firing him for sure.

Patsies are not a playoff team…yet. A few good additions and they are 9-7 at the very least with him.  Gonna be a problem for us for some time.

Why don’t these coaches go to the NFC

That conference has a much better opportunity for success than sticking in a the AFC.

I don’t know. A lot of the teams in the NFC have turned or are turning things around. Feels more even than in years past.
