Mike Vrabel - Now hired as the new Patriots coach

agree. Coach meathead will have that team disciplined and they will play smart football. Pair him with Maye, and they will Be back in business in a year, unfortunately.

Regardless of Vrabel, which already scares many of us ha ha, it's crazy how competitive the AFC is! Cheaps, Burrow, Lamar and on and on. Even Nix could develop into a dangerous one.

Vrabel is good but hard to say how good. He got to ride prime Derrick henry for several years. 

 

and if Josh Mcadaniels is brought in to run the offensive, im starting to wonder if he has always been quite a bit overrated. Tom Brady didn't exactly fall off a cliff without him.

I’m only surprised in the fact they didn’t hire him last year, when they should have.  That team will be decent this coming year with Maye and a pretty decent draft slot, they should be able to make things happen.   I’m not 100% sold Maye is going to be great, but he’s looked good enough to think he can be.

You're thinking of his dad.  Eliot Wolf has been a GM for exactly one year.

Solid coach, but not great.  Everyone says he took a team w/ Tannehill at QB to the playoffs - but Tannehill was basically playing at an elite level a few of those years.

Wouldn't at all be surprised to see them finish second in the division next year. Definitely have the best position as a franchise out of our AFC opponents.

I mean, one of these dumpster fires had to make a smart move eventually. We all knew it wouldn’t be the Jets given their owner and market, and Miami decided to get high on HOPEium and stay the course as the team falls apart and has more questions than answers. NE has a long road ahead to get relevant but Vrabel is likely a guy who can get them into wildcard shape within a season or two. 
 

Eventually one of them will get it right, but I don’t think they’ll do more than steal a few wins here and there within the division. They’ll hurt Miami and the Jets before they cause us problems.

Apparently you can’t coach the Pats if you didn’t play there. When they fire Vrabel in 2 years because no amount of coaching can fix that roster, do they hire Rodney Harrison?

In a hypothetical universe, would you rather Pats get Vrabel or they lose week 18 and keep #1 overall pick?
