1/12/25 Its ON! Super Wild Card Playoff GAMEDAY THREAD Bills vs. Broncos

Does anybody beside me think it is idiotic that the NFL has added the "Super" to "Wild Card Weekend"? Do they think we are seven-year-old Marvel Comics fans who will be more excited if they add meaningless adjectives?

How long before it becomes the "The Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious Tesla Maybelline Jesus McDonald's Wild Card Weekend"?

HAPPY FIRST PLAYOFF GAME DAY, TBD! Usually, in these game morning posts, I encourage you to be a productive and decent human being in some way or some manner (always trying to promote good Karma). To be a good example, I will go on a morning hike with my wife and do church online today--all before game time. The hike to walk off nervous energy and be right with the Mrs., and church, well, for the obvious, and the Karma thing--A theological question: Is Karma appropriate and compatible with the Christian faith? Regardless, I don't want to take any chances and tempt fate--another theological conundrum: Fate vs. Christianity? (Who is that TBD member teaching Sunday School today at 1:00 PM? I need your hermeneutical help here, bro.)

So, for our beloved Bills: You be bad today! Buffalo Bills, be bad in the best way possible. And for TBD: In cheering on our beloved Bills, you be bad today as well! Be bad in the best way possible.

GO BILLS!

This time tomorrow the board will either be filled with threads to Fire McDermott or talking about how Baltimore is going to destroy us. Nothing like Bills fan Playoff optimism!

We could be up 21 with 49 seconds left.  As a Bills fan, we feel "its still not over".  We make a big play, the first thing we do is look for the flag.  Im an optimist, but do to our history(wide right, music city miracle, just give it to them, Hail Mary, etc) we have all suffered collective PTSD.  I think of young people especially,

who suffered 17 years without the playoffs.  I am not a pessimist by nature, but The Bills history could make an optimist a pessimist IMO.

GO BILLS!

It seems to have worked for a certain unnamed someone who uses superlatives like that before ever her sentence 🤷‍♂️

Woe is me!

Early hours of the morning. Prostate keeping me awake. And the haunting echoes of so many heartbreaking moments I haven't been able to shake since those young carefree days when I was still able to get out of a chair without making a noise.

Oh, woe is me!

You have a lot of company here, methinks.

I was born and raised in Buffalo in the 1960s and 1970s and have been a Bills fan since forever.  The picture of the dog is our two year old Lab-- Josh.

My Dad also loved to go to the horse races, and I loved it too.  I learned to read when I was three because I wanted to know how to handicap.  Today, they would have put me in social services, but I loved my Dad and I loved the horses.

Never make money betting, and I am not rich, so about 30 years ago a group of us bought a racehorse.  Over the years it became mostly me as my Dad passed and others lost interest.  Our first horse was a mare we bought in the early 1990s, Quick Shift.

Fast forward to October 12, 2024, and Shift's great grandson-- Brilliant Ice our homebred--won the Maryland Million classic for us-- the second biggest race in Maryland after the Preakness.  We had never won a big race before, winning small ones was hard enough.  When he crossed the finish line first by over five lengths, I instantly burst into tears and started sobbing uncontrollably.  It was the most amazing feeling of release and joy, and literally in that moment I knew what it would be like when the Bills win the Super Bowl.

I want every Bills fan to know that feeling, myself included.  It will be amazing, and it will be like nothing you have ever felt before, at least it was for me.  I really want us all to get there together in 2025.  Let's start with the Broncos, it would be only fitting for me.  Go Bills!!!!

I want to see this team run through the playoffs and superbowl in a way rarely seen.

I want McDermott to screw being nice, run it up!  I don't give a damn other teams and fans get pissed, win every damn game by 40 points if possible!
