Losing all those veterans and leadership had to have an effect.  And we weren't sure what receivers or DL improvements would rise up in 24.  Josh and this team found a way to block out all the noise and it reflected in 13+ wins. Sean must get some credit for this and his adjustment in personality has reflected in how more "chill" this team seems to be. And yes we still have wall to hurdle.

Here is a reasonable and well spoken world class athlete explaining this in a way that makes sense to me. I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind, but I give this some weight. And I especially liked “you asked me the same thing last year.” So true, every year. 😊

I looked briefly but didn’t find that poll. I think I had 12 wins, and I’m generally the optimistic guy. I don’t know what will happen in the playoffs, but this season was a pleasant surprise to me.

Beilein is a WNYer who coached at Nazareth and Canisius before Michigan. I’m sure they know each other.

I enjoyed the article, really happy that McD is opening up. I want the Bills to move on from McD if he can’t get out of the divisional round again, but I really respect him and what he’s down for this team.

(Yes, I’m aware Paula will never move on from a guy who delivers two home playoff games because all that matters is revenue, but that’s still my prerogative.)

he needed to add a sentence to the article, not to nit pick an otherwise good article. Like “John Beilein, who has coached in WNY and knows McD well….” Just seems a bit random to drop him in, especially since this is a national piece.

Reading some of the reply's on here i think the only way McD will ever get any credit at all is by 1 winning a SB and before that day he may want to drain some blood and give it as a sacrifice to some of the Bills fans here .

 

One said the only thing that will change the perception is if he wins , for christ sake the guy has had 5 AFC east division championships in a row since he's been here and is in the freakin play offs every year !!

 

I get it i would love to see a Lombardi in the trophy case at 1 Bills Drive too but ya'll are like the high maintenance Biotch wife that is never happy no matter what they are given ...

 

I'll never under stand it . Ya'll might feel a little more appreciative of where the Bills sit each year if they lost more and sat out a couple years of the play offs then just maybe (but i doubt it) you might appreciate what we have in this team being winners every year i think your getting spoiled !!

This article covers much of the same ground as Ty Dunne’s this week, including references and quotes from Beilein. Probably something McD brought up in both interviews. 
 

The part about his Dad having cancer was touching. It’s easy to forget these are just people and their jobs are the subject of a LOT of people’s obsessions. 
I remember hearing about Bills’ kicker Booth Lustig being accosted after a game.  Crazy.
