Maybe. For a 5 star recruit he really didn’t do much until this years playoffs. We talked ***** about him for 3.5 years. Ofc now we love him. I think he’s destined to be the next Bobby Carpenter.  Buckeye legend from Columbus who was just shy of “NFL good” but will make a living off of being on local sports radio

Let’s not discuss his body of work tonight lmao. He’s on a roll.

Maybe the best defensive play in Ohio state history. He’s now a legend.

I felt bad that his pick against Michigan was forgotten because lost.  I’m really happy for him.

He'll never have to pay for dinner in Columbus ever again and he's guaranteed at least a radio show.

I think the other DE who rushes against the LT looks better - J.T. Tuimoloau. 11.5 sacks and 20 TFL this season.

And there's a number of guys on that D that could make the Bills better. The DT Williams, both LB's, the S Ransom. Maybe there's an eventual Rasul Douglas replacement there as well.

I don’t know  - depends on what pick Bills would need to spend on him.  I haven’t looked at a lot of game tape (and as much as I like to pretend, I’m no scout), but he strikes me as a good solid high-floor guy with limited ceiling.  Those kind of guys are really good to have, but likely not stars.  Sounds like he might have the attitude and dedication to intrigue the Bills, but I think we would end up disappointed if they use even a late first on him.  Maybe not a fair comparison, but I get some Chris Kelsay vibes (and I liked Kelsay a lot more than many - he was underrated).

Appreciate the grounded perspective.

FTR, I have no idea what he'll be and wish him all the best.

He was supposed to be the next Joey Bosa. He never was that, but he became a legend and is a local kid too, which there are very of anymore within the program. He’s also a great all-around Buckeye who is dedicated to Ohio state and deserves this!

Interesting I think he can play in this league. I've got a high 3 on him indicatively from my first review.

That is interesting and good to hear. The sense among Buckeye fans has been that he did not live up to the expectation that he would be the next Joe/Nick Bosa, Chase Young, etc. -- at least up until the last few weeks of this season. He may have been held back by changing defensive coordinators, and even when Jim Knowles settled in it seemed like Knowles and DL coach Larry Johnson were not on the same page. Once Knowles took complete control of the defense, including the line, the entire defense including Sawyer went to another level. So maybe he has more potential as a pro than we saw during his first 3.5 years in college.

He and JTT are both day 2 picks imo. I don’t think they ended up like nick Bosa but I see guys like Jonathan Cooper playing pretty well on Sundays and see that level of as their nfl future

Let’s see how he tests, pass his medical, but I’d probably take him in the second.

It is true that his career has been solid if not a bit lackluster, but some switch has flipped and he has made some very good linemen look silly in these playoffs.

He has the attitude and work ethic. If his medicals are clean and he tests well, the only other thing to figure out is if his playoff performance is/was a flash in the pan or if he has raised his game to a new and sustainable level.

Steelers will draft him

Sadly, that’s probably accurate. On the Bills I see him as a rotational power end with some upside. So he’d be a backup to Rousseau. We’d probably have to take him with one of our late 2nds if we wanted him. So it would depend on the other options available.
