He definitely improved. He was unlistenable to start off. I think he can be inciteful. I say this as a biased Brady hater, but I think even if I wasn't a bBh I would still have thought this just maybe to a lesser extent, sometimes I think he's quick witted and a good listen and other times I think he's a bit of an unnecessarily arrogant dick.

yeah a lot of people complained about him, i thought he was great.  a little unpolished but seemed like he was giving us insight that we're certainly not getting from the Troy Aikmans of the world.

I'd take Brady's insight anyday over Troy "hound-dog" Aikman's rambling on....

Nice to see at least one person wasn't schmoozed into thinking he's not a ginormous sack of insincere smarm.

This seems like his opinion. Nothing concrete.

But I do think it's tough to be a broadcaster and not be able to criticize others. Also, how will he broadcast in different cities each week while running the Raiders?

Maybe, but this seems like just some guy’s random opinion.

Brady doesn’t strike me as a quitter either. In about 3 years, he will probably have worked so hard to become the greatest announcer of all time. Seriously.

Cheaters never quit.

Yup this was always the most probable outcome.

Reports from Vegas are he is going to be hands-on with Mark Davis, and because of the conflicts of interests he can’t be a standard analyst on game days.

something about getting access to teams’ preparation for each game and stuff like that as a color analyst, right?

The article was pure speculation and 5 months too late. NFL already signed off n the potential conflict of interest.

The only way he gives up the announcing gig is if he is named Raiders President of Operations and takes over control of the team. I actually think that is what is going to happen. He will then pick the GM and HC and they will report to him.

He was insufferable at the start and never shut up. He has good insights but they are ruined by the constant babbling. That being said, I noticed this less and less as the season wore on. So I guess he improved.

Conflict of interest maybe with being in the ownership of the Raiders. Probably can't deal with other teams and what they are doing through interviews.

And not able to attend other teams practices etc.

I agree. I thought he was solid. His delivery is Robotic, but that will improve with time. I thought he did a nice job on substance of the analysis.

He’s good at the stuff when the camera is on the field and the play clock is running.

He's embarrassingly terribly at the yuck yuck stuff in between.

They should turn his mic off between plays.

If he wants to be more hands on with the Raiders he's gonna have to take something off his plate. Giving up the broadcasting makes sense. Honestly I think Fox has to be relived, Brady's not a bad commentator and I think with more experience he would have gotten better but I doubt he's really driving ratings and given the rather massive amount of money they are paying him getting off that money is a positive for Fox.

In my opinion, Greg Olsen is the best NFL analyst and Brady's exit will mean that he rightfully goes back to the #1 spot for Fox which is a plus.

Brady may have gotten better but the bar was set very low based on the first couple of games. He wasn't a gaffe machine but didn't really say anything insightful, a kind of Captain Obvious type statements.

I don't doubt he will work like a maniac at whatever job or jobs he picks.

But he's handicapped as an announcer if he stays with team ownership, which I think is a very safe bet. I see him reaching very good but not great as an announcer. Not being able to criticize refs or visit locker rooms really is a big blow in that role.

But I agree with you that I think quitting after this year is unlikely. We'll see.

Good stuff, as usual from you.

I thought he was pretty good by the end of the season, honestly.

Me too.
