Man with No Name Posted Saturday at 05:48 AM Posted Saturday at 05:48 AM i missed his first few games, but when i finally saw him near midseason, i was wondering what all the chatter about him sucking was all about. he was fine. Collinsworth amuses me. Aikman is terrible. I just don't understand where his value comes from. At least collinsworth has a personality. 2 Quote
eball Posted Saturday at 06:18 AM Posted Saturday at 06:18 AM Total conflict of interest. The announcers meet with teams during the week and are given confidential insights. I actually liked listening to him but it’s over. 2 1 Quote

Brady doesn’t strike me as a quitter either. In about 3 years, he will probably have worked so hard to become the greatest announcer of all time. Seriously. He'll cheat and get the answers from Tony Romo. Seriously. 🤣 3 1 Quote

I think he has a lot of room to grow. On the flip side, the year after Peyton retired I watched him join the booth for a quarter of a Broncos game. I couldn't believe it. Other than him needing to be reminded not to root for Denver players (he quickly muttered something like "c'mon [receiver name]" like he was disappointed with their catch attempt), the detailed breakdowns of each play absolutely flowed out of him. No regurgitated gobbledygook whatsoever. Tom is quite unpolished but there's potential. I'm probably stating the obvious but Peyton has one of the sharpest minds and was ready to go day 1. His Manningcast is obviously successful and I couldn't help but believe he would already be considered everyone's favorite color commentator if he stood in the booth. He just can’t criticize teams and officials. That might be a pleasant surprise. An announcer who is simply going to analyze the plays on the field!! he also can’t be in the building with either team during the week and frankly would you want him having private access to Joe Brady today (and each week through the Super Bowl) with the raiders job open? Or bills players with free agency looming? Edited Saturday at 04:25 PM by NoSaint 1 Quote
