Elway was the only one I believe.

Which seems appropriate, since Josh as a QB is everything people used to say Elway was, except a LOT more so.

McDermott’s scheme is capable of getting efficient to highly efficient play out of JAG players, but it seems damn near impossible for him to get an already good player up to a dominant level of production — other than Josh Allen, who is a cheat code.

It’s the biggest concern at this point that in 8 drafts + offseasons the McBeane regime hasn’t produced a single other dominant player. Lots of solid players, a few borderline great ones… but nearly a decade of scouting for Beane and in nearly a decade of coaching from McD, we’re embarking on yet another postseason run without top tier, “All Pro” production from anyone except the QB.

To be fair, Josh is also the only pick they made in the top 10 of the draft, and most of their first picks are in the 20s. The odds of grabbing elite players goes way down back there. It’s not impossible, but it is more difficult.

He didn’t even get a single All Pro vote.

I don’t think I would trust the AP reporters to vote on what I should have for lunch at this point.

Teams with more All Pros than the Bills:

- Cincy (2)

- Pittsburgh (3)

- Denver (5)

- Indy (2)

-Jacksonville (2)

- KC (4)

- Baltimore (6)

- New England (2)

- Dallas (3)

- Detroit (6)

- Minnesota (3)

- Philly (6)

- San Fran (3)

- Washington (4)

And the Bills are arguably a top 3 team in the league in terms of results. Combined with the lack of Pro Bowl accolades, either:

- The roster is very underrated and some guys are getting snubbed.

- Allen should be the run away MVP winner with such a weak supporting cast.

- Sean McDermott should be coach of the year for dragging these bums to the #2 seed, beating both #1 seeds in the process.

It's the 2nd one

Oliver was pick 9, but I appreciate your point overall.

But Chris Jones was a 2nd round pick. TJ watt was pick 30. Amon Ra was 4th round. Trey Hendrickson was round 3.

It should go without saying it’s not “easy” to find these types of guys, but given the sheer amount of time the current regime has had to do so, you’d almost expect them to luck into at least ONE other guy besides Allen. Worse front offices than ours certainly have.

If jackson wins MVP we know it is a ***** joke. Josh had better stats last year, and Jackson won. This year the justification is that Jackson had better stats. Like I said, ***** joke.

One All-pro player on the team and it is Josh. Josh sat 11 quarters because the Bills were winning. So he's punished for that? bull####.

my bad on Ed…I knew I was missing one.

And yes, I know it is possible, but chances go way down. And for the record, they HAVE DRAFTED all pros. They drafted Tre White, Matt Milano, and Taron Johnson. Injuries suck.

The hilarious part of this is if Lamar wins MVP and they lose on Saturday.  The MVP voters will having given the MVP to a QB more times than he has won in the post season.

That to me, tells me that they have some sort of agenda.  I don't care if the MVP is a regular season award.  Lamar would be the equivalent to Phillip Rivers.  Good/great in the regular season and garbage in the playoffs.

I’ve said numerous times I don’t care about these individual awards because they are basically just popularity contests. There’s no way Josh is winning a popularity contest with pundits and talking heads who he continues to prove wrong season after season, they just move the goal posts for what the MVP is to accommodate their desired choice (Lamar). I think there’s an element of racism against Josh too although we aren’t allowed to talk about that since he’s a white guy. Lamar is a phenomenal QB and I don’t think he needs to be torn down in order to elevate Josh. If the MVP meant anything it would be a no brainer that Josh wins it because he’s done more with less according to those very same voters (All Pro/MVP). The discourse this year on Allen vs Lamar has been toxic, not fun at all, and I’ve tried to avoid it as much as possible.

I hope Lamar wins the MVP then loses to Pitt on Sunday

Just win the Lombardi and then laugh in the faces of all these voters who have an elevated sense of themselves because they get a vote.

James Cook, Round 2.

Spencer Brown, Round 3.

Taron Johnson, Round 4.

Christian Benford, Round 6.

These are elite players at their position, IDGAF what the media says.

Yeah very true, I think Tre was gonna be special (although I guess that’s technically a Whaley pick 🤓) and Taron excels in his role. Milano was great.

I still don’t think any of them brought to the team what a Jones or a Watt bring to theirs. If we had that type of piece on the defense I think some of our past postseason runs go a lot lot differently.

Tre White (2019)

Stefan Diggs (2020)

Jordan Poyer (2021)

Matt Milano (2022)

Three defenders, nobody in the same season and the only offensive player was in Josh Allen’s breakout season. None in the other four, 40 touchdown seasons.

Those are great players, I don’t think we can any of them tier 1 in the way I’m talking about. How many opposing coaches worry about game planning for Taron Johnson the same way they have to game plan for Chris Jones? Is Benford the type of lockdown problem that takes away half a field? Even the BS sports media would typically notice that.

Cook could probably be an every down work horse if we wanted, so the potential is certainly there. But I don’t think he alone causes the defense the types of problems Henry or Saquan do.

And again, those types of players don’t grow on trees. But I think it’s fair to wonder why we don’t have someone besides Allen who brings that to the table after 8 seasons.

All Pro's are the best one or two at that position in the league. We do not have any players outside of Taron who are the best one or two players at the position. It's not a conspiracy.

There are years that Josh Allen hasn’t been voted the best one or two at his position in the league… so what does that mean then?

I’m not saying it’s a conspiracy, just quit clutching on to some writers voting on games they don’t even watch.

Yea he is the one Bill I think can feel slighted. I don't have a ton of complaints with Sewell and Johnson. They are both studs and deserving. They sucked up all the 1st place votes between the two of them. But Spencer unfortunate to get zero votes.

QB's get heavily penalized for INT's and don't get a lot of credit for rushing production

Should have a real shot next year with more awareness.
