D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) So PFF says Bills are 19th, that's about 7-10 record, actually went 13-4, thats +6, Ravens are third( close to 1st) that's like 14-3/15-2 and ended up 12-5. Thats -3. Hmmmm Edited 4 hours ago by D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Quote

We can argue all day about who had the better year, but if you take away Josh we likely have a bottom 20 offense and finish with 7 wins or less. Ravens are still a wild card team. Nobody has equaled more wins by himself than Allen this year. The AP vote just reinforces that. 2 Quote

Most of these are players that were an A-level talent at some point. It gets a lot better next year, especially if we release Miller and Knox. Hopefully we can acquire some more relevant A-level talent with the savings. We really are operating at a shoestring budget this year, and decided to take our cap medicine (unlike a team like the Saints). I agree with all of your post except this: Beane is overpaying Knox (Cap wise) a lot next year, but he will be on the team. They are not taking that huge of a hit to get rid of him. Quote

Big Blitz Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Here is what I’m convinced of. Not only is it bc they were so wrong about Josh - it’s that for 7 years we’ve seen him be flat out the best player in the NFL. A complete freak show QB doing things they never thought possible. They know it. Lamar has to be propped up because his early career numbers especially passing were just mid and he’s been a playoff loser and choker - he absolutely can change that this year bc his team is so good and he’s very much improved. The charity case has been Lamar. It’s ridiculous. 1 Quote
klos63 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I know to many here, mvp is such a huge issue, but maybe these all pro selections along with the Bills performance this season will put the focus back on team results vs individual awards. The Bills are great team despite the lack of superstars at positions other than QB. Quote

thewookie1 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago There’s three reasons Josh isn’t getting MVP votes more than likely. 1. Much of the media hate the Bills and Buffalo as a whole. Add to that many dislike Allen for actually making many of them look dumb and you have an easy anti-Allen group of voters. We have a handful of Buffalo backing or at least respecting reporters and many who wish we’d move. Meanwhile Allen winning any award would create a concrete example of their complete misjudgment of Allen at the draft. 2. Moving goalposts - although Allen has fulfilled everything Jackson did last year and then some while having a great record too. Now they wish to go purely statistics based and ignore the record and the like. Allen having a great statistical year and solid record against a hard schedule last year was ignored but will be fully used to promote Lamar’s year. 3. Lastly, as much as I hate to say it, racism does play a part as well. There is a block of voters in the group that are going to vote based on skin color alone. We know that based on the many talking head shows. The number of African American pundits that have actively campaigned for Lamar and/or degraded Allen over the past month or so is very apparent. When you hear them referring to Lamar and Barkley as a “brother” or other similar slang you can see a particular bias exposed. RGIII while not a voter likely isn’t the lone pundit that seems personally invested in Lamar beating Allen even if it means being hypocritical to last season’s vote. Hell, some of those talking heads complained he didn’t get a sweep of 1st place votes last year. Rarely do their arguments involve anything but claiming Lamar’s greatness and demean Allen’s performance while attacking other analysts liking Allen. Or you see those like Acho who have downplayed it to Allen will win purely due to voter fatigue. Frankly I only started to notice this point after Allen started getting seen as the favorite for MVP; suddenly a dozen or so African American analysts suddenly became defensive against Allen winning the MVP after seemingly being fine with it until after the Chiefs game. At first is was mainly Barkley talk but once Lamar had a couple good games it shifted more to him. 3 1 1 1 Quote
billsfan89 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I thought Dawkins had a chance at an All-Pro second team but there's only two slots so the margin to make an All-Pro is so narrow. Guys not getting All-Pro and Pro-Bowl nods don't really bother me. The Bills are a team whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Josh is the elite component and then there's just so many players who while they may not be "All-Pro" caliber players (as in top 2 at their position effectively) are quality top 5-8 players at their positions or at the very least better than average starters. I think the Bills have also done a quality job of finding players to fill roles that may seem small but can have a big impact like finding Ty Johnson as an elite pass catching third down back whose maybe not an elite running back but a back that can have a huge impact on some games depending on the matchup and gameplan. I imagine their stadium smells like Stavros' computer chair I dont actually hate Lamar, but everything else I listed makes me forget I don't. In summary. 1 Quote
