Considering Highmark Lot 1 for first time this week. Usually park at ECC because we Northtowners avoid traffic by using the route along the River and Lake.

Leaving Lot 1 which empties onto Big Tree, will we be allowed to turn RIGHT (heading west, instead of most people who will turn left and head east towards 219) onto Big Tree and then cross Abbott to continue on to Southwestern? I'm not sure how what traffic pattern restrictions we might run into.

Thanks, fam.

Which way do you want to go on Southwestern? Towards Transit?

No, we're heading west to Route 5 ultimately (via some other roads) and then north. Just wondering if I can get there from a Lot off Big Tree that's just east of the Abbott intersection. Worried the egress might be forced left (east) towards 219. Not many people come and go from the other direction (Rt 5), so I'm not surprised there isn't much guidance being shared yet.

Lake Ave. off Abbott runs out to Route 5. It’s about a mile out or so from the stadium heading towards the City. You’d turn left on Lake straight thru to 5.

Appreciate it for sure, but Lake Ave is north of the Stadium, and Lot 1 that I'm considering empties onto Big Tree, which is south of Highmark. Abbott is closed to traffic just north of Big Tree. So I still need to figure out if I can simply cross Abbott going west on Big Tree. If I'll be allowed to, or if I'll be forced to head east on Big Tree towards the 219.

Sorry, can’t help. Only way I go/know is straight Abbott, park in private lot before stadium. Turn around go back. Same way for 50 yrs. Good luck. Someone should have something.

Hell yeah. Generations of effective logistics. No need to change a thing.

I just looked at the egress parking map. Had no clue how controlled and limited it is, I’ve never dealt with. Didn’t realize how fortunate I was.

Don’t park in Lot 1. The stadium lots are the worst for egress. It can legitimately add hours. We are on Southwestern at La Galleria. I’m in Williamsville and have been home as soon as 23 minutes after a game. Generally it’s around 30. My brother is in the city and takes RT. 5. It takes him about the same. He shoots to McKinley and down.

Park way down on Abbott. Nearly a mile away. You'll walk fifteen minutes but be out of traffic in 20. Vs an hour in the lot traffic.

I'm not saying I'm a pro but I am saying I am really good at this.

- Abbott & Elmtree/Middlesex/Meadowlawn

- Park on the opposite side of those at someone's house.

- when you pull out you go right into traffic vs having to take a side street to Abbott

From there:

Abbott

To Clark

To Legion

To Camp

To 90 W (Hamburg)

 Edit/correction:

Evidently for the last few games they have been blocking people from turning right, effectively allowing no westbound traffic between the field house and Abbott.

We've had no problem in the past but perhaps that's because we tend to linger.

Apologies for any confusion.

correct - they start routing all traffic on Big Tree EASTBOUND (towards the 219) around 3:30 PM for 1:00 games.

No.  Traffic control cops make everyone turn left out of the lot.  You might be able to, if you don't try to leave for at least an hour after the game.

Imagine it.

A literal “Bills train” that runs from the stadium, to a large empty lot a few miles away. Harry Potter style.

Thousands of people get on the train to be shuttled away to their vehicles.

Eases congestion at the stadium and disperses it to other areas.

I park in stadium lot 6 and never sit in traffic. Also in Williamsville and am home the same times.

I think you'll want to turn left and head toward the 219 Northbound. A right turn puts you into the teeth of the traffic monster post game. Of course that depends how soon you plan on leaving. Wait too long and you'll be caught in a traffic jam. But you could go Southbound on 219 instead and make a big loop toward Route 5 from there.

Also I thought you had to pre-buy stadium lot parking at the start of the season? Will they allow you into lot 1?
