There's a better chance now that Lewis Cine got poached by Phili. But I still think you're going to need to see multiple Safety injuries before he sees the field (and I wouldn't root for that). Cole Bishop has looked better with each start. He may be pushing Damar for playing time. And I think they'd sooner turn to Cam Lewis (definitely) and maybe even Kareem Jackson (as he got the nod in multiple weeks with Hyde on the roster) before him. Real McClappy Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago That was cool. I bet Hyde will be in Uni for the playoffs. Quote

McDermott has said everything short of outright saying "he's not seeing the field" with both his words and actions. If they had designs of doing it, they'd have wanted to evaluate how he looks after coming off the couch and get some of those rust reps out in the last week of the year when they were resting people. 3 minutes ago, Big Blitz said: Did Weddle in 2021? Had he been on the Roster at the end of the year and could get him some reps, they probably would have. If we're in the same situation, maybe he comes in. But as long as Rapp, Bishop (who I think may have beaten out Hamlin), Hamlin, and Lewis are healthy - he's not coming in. If the Call-ups that have occurred since he's come on are any indication, it would take multiple injuries as Kareem Jackson was called up multiple times before Hyde at the end of the year. And that's not something we should be hoping for. Quote

IOW McD's words don't mean he won't be playing. I mean, if they didn't plan on him playing, they could have just hired him as an assistant DB/S coach and he would have had the same impact. Quote
T.E. Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Again, I do not believe he decided to come back just to be a "veteran presence in the locker room." Quote
Warcodered Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago This doesn't seem all that complicated to me, the guy is an emergency Safety, but is here as Vet voice former Captain and a guy that has been a core part of this system since it got here. He's here because he wants to be a part of one more run and this is the capacity he's able to do it in, I also would not be surprised at all if he became a coach next season. Quote

And then he'd get a ring for coaching, instead of as a player. And if an emergency situation occurred where we were decimated at Safety, he wouldn't be able to come on the field. Do you anticipate everyone we sign to the Practice Squad to see the field? He's a player who did not look good coming back from a Neck injury and then kept getting stingers. We started moving on from him before he even said whether or not he'd come back. If they felt he was up to the task and still performing well and if he felt that, he'd have been here. Now he's been on the shelf for a year. When we had a litany of injuries to Safety during Training Camp, we didn't turn to him and he didn't turn to us. And when we had a litany of injuries to Safety at the end of the year when he was on the roster, we still didn't turn to him. I'm not saying he absolutely can't or he absolutely won't. I'm saying that he's an extreme break glass in case of emergency player that I don't see them wanting to see the field. And if he does, that probably means something bad has happened to one or more players and I don't think we should want that. This idea that they're just gonna throw him on the field for substantial playing time in the Playoffs with no game time (when it was available) over healthy Cole Bishop, Damar Hamlin, and Cam Lewis is EXTREMELY far fetched to me. And slightly confusing as it seemed we all agreed that he was toast and it was time to move on. But keep on dreaming. Maybe it'll come true. I'm just saying I wouldn't place a bet on it. Most I see is *maybe* an activation for the Super Bowl so he's active for it without seeing many, if any, reps. Edited 4 hours ago by BillsFanForever19 Quote
transplantbillsfan Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Pretty cool Micah did that. Even more of a sign he's pretty content as a player coach. With Cole Bishop now getting more and more playing time, you love that. Gotta wonder if coaching is in Micah's future. Obviously it will start in Buffalo Quote
Let's Go Buffalo Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago That's pretty cool! I've always had a lot of respect for Micah Hyde. Go Bills! Quote
