I think he could do a good job as a leader, direction setter and cohesion builder but not sure he is a talent evaluator. I’m not sure he was ready to be a GM at that time. He had no front office experience when he joined the lions. Quote

I was proud of his choice, but I’m sure the concussions and other matter also contributed to it. The bottom line is is he’s been in some way in the front office for awhile, so if deserved, good for him. I’m a fan as well at least as a player. He had a neck injury halfway through the Bills season in 1997. Rehabbed, then took 1998 off to deal with his wife's illness. Bills released him and he signed with the Browns, but reinjured the neck and had to retire. 1 Quote

I love Campbell but he is just the crazy guy who goes for on 4th down and is fired in 2 years if he’s the Raiders coach. 1 Quote

Penei Sewell should never have falled to #6 in that class and Aiden Hutchinson should never have fallen to #2 in his class either. Not to dismiss some of what Holmes has done elsewhere with St Brown, Joseph, Branch and LaPorta on days 2 and 3 of drafts but they were gifted two elite players at premium positions by dumb franchises like the Bengals, Dolphins and Jaguars. I feel like some of that is hindsight. Are the Bengals really dumb for taking Chase? Or the Jags for taking Lawrence who was thought to be a generational qb talent (never got it but he was)? Sewell is a RT. Most teams can’t afford to take a RT that high. Never got Walker going #2. That was incredibly stupid. I think when you start stacking up good players, it raises up the talent you have. Some of those players aren’t as good on other teams. We are living in a world where the Bills and Lions are model nfl teams. The world is about to end, 1 Quote

I have brad Holmes as executive of the year because he has been awesome in building the roster and then awesome again getting guys off the waiver for fill ins because of injuries. He reminds me so much of this eras gil Brandt. His eye for talent is elite 1 Quote

Can you imagine? what ? Doesnt everyone ? Now try getttin up AND down stairs backwards. wear a helmet for beginners lol Yes Chris was a very good player , and is a good dude. Jets would be a huge lift/challenge though Quote

We are living in a world where the Bills and Lions are model nfl teams. The world is about to end, Sewell ia playing right tackle. The same as Tristan Wirfs did when he came into the league because his team had a vet LT. I said Wirfs would be an all pro LT and he is about to be. Sewell will be too, he is even better. Sewell is the best tackle I have ever seen come into the league in my 22 years watching. Not hindsight. I said on draft day the Bengals should have taken him, not taking away at all from how good Chase is, and I still think that. And if they didn't Miami should have. There is no way he should evet have reached #7. The word generational is overused at draft time. Penei Sewell was generational. And then the Jags I am on about passing on Hutchinson for Travon Walker. I wouldn't quite put Hutch in the generational talent bucket with Sewell but he was CLEARLY the best player in that draft. Taking Walker over him was dumb, dumb, dumb. So I do think Brad Holmes has done a fine job. But those first two cornerstone pieces were handed to him on a plate by dumb franchises. 1 Quote
