The OP drops this turd and then never showed up again.

It's a troll move.  He's done this before I believe.

He WAS on my ignore list, but I gave amnesty to all a while back.

He will return to the ignore list with the other trolls.

Had to play? Did u ever hear of Shakir, Ingram or Lewis. All available & playing. Ever hear of a thing called the practice squad, where u could have elevated a CB or 2 for a nothing game, rather than risk your specialist

Here - definition of a troll by the fan boys that dominate this board - Anybody who dares whisper a word of criticism of their team. They can only tolerate praise - their idea of the perfect message board is 1000 posts of “Go Bills”. Grow up and learn a bit of tolerance. Diversity of opinion is not trolling

Well, okay, I get it, but THE most reliable punt returner the Bills have had in the last ten years is on the practice squad, so the Bills won't be left high and dry if Codrington can't go.  Micah Hyde.  And, Shakir has a lot of punt returning experience.

There are more important things to worry about.

Some people have to find an excuse to blame McD for something  to show he's a poor coach and appears the OP is one of them.

If you're arguing that we should have had Shakir in over Codrington in a game we were trying to keep our starters healthy, then you are definitely trolling.

When playoff time rolls around, a constant theme is Coach McD & bad decisions. 13 seconds, clock management, head scratching decisions to punt, or fake punt, at the worst times etc etc. His latest blunder, right as the playoffs are about to begin, ranks right up there. He has had ONE, and only ONE, player return punts all year (kickoffs as well). This player has done very well, unlike the rest of our special teams. So the decision to use this ONE player in a meaningless game RIGHT before the start of playoffs boggles the mind. Even worse, he EXPANDED this players role in this meaningless game, as he had him not only returning kicks, but used him as a DB as well. And now he is injured. And now the Bills have to scramble to find a punt returner just as the playoffs are starting. A yet to be named player who hasn’t returned a punt ALL year. A wiser choice may have been to sit our punt returner, and let another player get a bit of experience returning punts in this meaningless game, just in case our #1 guy got hurt sometime during the playoffs. But wise decisions come the playoffs is not the McD way. Quite the opposite actually.

But this is a terrible opinion. Really poorly thought out and dumb. If you play this game you have to assume the replacement gets hurt too. So you’re cool with Shakir or Lewis missing the game over Cod? Help me make sense of that.

Mr. Mohra:
So, I'm tendin' bar there at Ecklund and Swedlin's last Tuesday and this little guy's drinkin' and he says, "So where can a guy find some action? I'm goin' crazy out there at the lake." And I says, "What kinda action?" and he says, "Woman action, what do I look like?" And I says, "Well, what do I look like, I don't arrange that kinda thing," and he says, "I'm goin' crazy out there at the lake," and I says, "Well, this ain't that kinda place."

Officer Olson:
Uh-huh.

Mr. Mohra:
So he says, "So I get it, so you think I'm some kinda jerk for askin'," only he doesn't use the word jerk.

Officer Olson:
I understand.

Mr. Mohra:
And then he calls me a jerk and says the last guy who thought he was a jerk was dead now. So I don't say nothin' and he says, "What do ya think about that?" So I says, "Well, that don't sound like too good a deal for him then."

Officer Olson:
Ya got that right.

Mr. Mohra:
And he says, "Yah, that guy's dead and I don't mean of old age." And then he says, "Geez, I'm goin' crazy out there at the lake."

Officer Olson:
White Bear Lake?

Mr. Mohra:
Well, Ecklund & Swedlin's, that's closer ta Moose Lake, so I made that assumption.

Officer Olson:
Oh sure.

Mr. Mohra:
So, ya know, he's drinkin', so I don't think a whole great deal of it, but Mrs. Mohra heard about the homicides down here and she thought I should call it in, so I called it in. End o' story.

Officer Olson:
What'd this guy look like anyway?

Mr. Mohra:
Oh, he was a little guy. Kinda funny lookin'.

Officer Olson:
Uh-huh. In what way?

Mr. Mohra:
Oh, just in a general kinda way.

I was listening on and off to the game on the radio Sunday and heard them say Codrington was in on the tackle and was totally confused and thought this was a Bernard/Benford type of deal with the names.

I honestly thought there must be some linebacker named Codrington that sounds a lot like the kick returner.

since I stopped playing Madden I don't recognize a lot of the guys lower on the depth chart!

As to the topic, it's football. What is he supposed to do?

Definitions aren't your thing, and neither is "diversity of opinion" of which there is plenty around here.  I'd suggest you look around and read some other posts to find plenty of criticism and people civilly disagreeing with each other, but I'm going to guess that reading comprehension may not be your thing either.

OP is definitely blowing things out of proportion,  whe Hyde is/was very reliable, he doesn't come close to the explosiveness and potential game changing play of Cod.

He will be missed if he can't go. Time and time again this guy has set the O up lovely on returns

My god man, are you always wearing blinders? Every “pass catcher “ on the team can do return duties, this incessant whining needs to stop, if  I were a Mod I would ban you until after next seasons home opener for posting such a miserable excuse for a thread topic, consider yourself lucky, 😁🍸🚬

Don, you know the funny thing is if this person just said things in relevance like, well the 3rd down defense has been pretty bad, the injuries to the LB’ers have been a problem, the pass rush has been up and down, Kinkaid we all expected more on a thought a breakout year, etc. would be reasonable.  That’s fair minded as no team is perfect so we have flaws like any other team.  Just like the Broncos running game is pedestrian at best.

These foolish takes are just that and had intent for this reaction.  He received what he wanted.  Not everyone is a rara, the Bills can do nothing wrong.  Then again, we also have so many strengths that most teams in the league don’t have which is why we won in MCDERMoTT’s coaching 13 wins, which was never done by any Bills coach in history, a 5 time AFCE winner, playoff appearance in  7 of the last 8 years.  Welcome to reality.

Go to the board you’re really a fan of as it’s not the Bills.  My first paragraph shows you many Bills fans get frustrated with our flaws, but we have common sense.

I here you, I have expressed my frustration on more than one occasion concerning the very points you brought up, it’s the nature of all fans and their teams.

Do you understand that Codrington was playing CB because he is the last man on the depth chart at the position?

Did you want to see Douglas and Benford out there to protect a freaking punt returner?

The Bills have other guys that can handle punts (Hyde, SHakir, etc).

Take your repetitive negativity and misery somewhere else; nobody here wants to hear it.

This!

Obviously we don’t know what happens if somebody else is in that position. But come on. What’s the alternative? Douglas? Even Ingram has filled in inside and outside with some success. Losing Ingram or Douglas would be way worse than Codrington.

Not that’s ST isn’t important, it is. But we have guys capable of fair catching the ball if needed. We have less guys capable of playing DB.

Look I don't agree with the OP's take, it wasn't well thought out and you can certainly pick apart his argument. But he does have a point about this board being overly sensitive to any criticism, especially pertaining to McDermott.

It was a similar thing with Diggs too, anyone who dare suggested something was seriously wrong last year and that his time was over was made out to be deranged... Let's just say that didn't age well for most on this board.  Be willing to put aside your homerism for a second and embrace a critical eye, we are all Bills fans here.

The best part is Codrington is practicing today.

OP did you pick up this take when you saw it wallowing in the mud?
