Reliable The Atlantic....

Disgraced mayor of LA Karen Bass traveled to Cuba repeatedly, including with a radical leftist group that supported Castro’s communist regime and agenda.

Biden considered Bass for his 2020 running mate, despite this:

"The Biden campaign knows about Bass’s history with the [Venceremos] Brigade, which began as a joint venture of the Castro government and Students for a Democratic Society, the leftist, antiwar organization that gave birth to the Weather Underground t*rrorist group."

"She told Biden’s vetting committee weeks ago that this was probably going to come up. So far, it hasn’t been a deal breaker—in fact, her potential to drive up African-American votes might help in Florida among voters who traditionally haven’t been paid as much attention in the state."

Biden and his handlers considered potentially putting this communist one heartbeat away from the presidency.

Instead, she’s been busy destroying Los Angeles.

Go figure. Remember as well that she was on Biden's VP short list. Apparently Kamala was a more palatable Marxist.

Hoo Boy: Karen Bass' Old Post About Ted Cruz Cooks Her,

As Democrats Desperately Reach for a Deflection

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass finally returned from her taxpayer-funded escapade to Africa on Wednesday, and she's been feeling the heat ever since.

She left for the inexplicable photo-op even as fires were already kicking up near her city, leaving a void of leadership during a crucial time.

Since touching down back in America, Bass has faced numerous questions about why she was even in Ghana in the first place. Remember, this was an "official" trip paid for by taxpayers. Why does the mayor of California's largest city need to be part of a delegation to a third-world African nation?

I wonder if Bass (Karen, not Tyler) was canoodling with our boy @Joe Ferguson forever in Cuba?  It's a lovely place with a robust censorship/harassment/exile policy, though apparently handled in the nicest way possible.  The exiled typically leave 4/5 star reviews on Google.

• Prediction: The next great scandal and outrage will be the rebuilding process—and I do mean PROCESS. Expect that the “visionaries” in the planning departments of LA city and County will say the fire is actually an “opportunity” to “re-imagine” how our neighborhoods ought to be rebuilt. I expect one of the usual morons at the Los Angeles Times already has the op-ed written on this theme.

Call me a liberal, whatever. But I've never had that liberal obsession with Cuba. I have no idea where it comes from other than "my enemy's enemy is my friend" thinking, which of course starts with believing that the U.S. government is the enemy. I have no interest in traveling there to subsidize a horrid government.

This is what we needed, another thread on Cali. I'm going to start spamming the board with threads just like this inbred.

Maybe we should focus on how North Carolina is doing months after a frickin rain storm. I understand the Amish have thrown up a few tuff sheds.

Cue @Roundybout going in and stackin' 'em deep and selling them cheap (per government guidelines specifying shared community gender neutral bathrooms, 87.357 sf per human habitant, climate-friendly eco controlled heat with occasional voluncompulsory rolling black/brownout, TCO* pricing model based on current and historical social credit score to address past, present, future or potential inequity).

I was in Miami for the first time in the early 90s for business.   I learned a couple things:

  • The people I was managing referred to me as "El pinche jefe", which sounded pretty good until they told me what it meant.  Thankfully, it was a term of endearment (I firmly believe, still);
  • I like a Cubano sammich, love black beans and more;
  • I have virtually no rhythm (this was more of a confirmation, I was quite certain by that stage in my life but Miami sealed it for me)
  • People can be pretty freaking cool and interesting (again, by then, I knew it but it was reinforced);

As for Cuba, it really never crosses my mind except when I see someone (usually a wealthy elitist like Beyonce) travel there.  I thought travel was restricted by our government, but between Beyonce, Fergie and Non-Tyler Bass, I guess I was incorrect.

And I thought telling people during a pandemic that it would be over in two weeks and then ignore doctors, drink bleach and shove a light up your ass was silly
