I say yes.  It’s  long overdue, that speed in short situations (like shakir) should present itself in this game.

YAC all the way in this one, nothing flashy for him…but I’m guessing he’s plus 40 yards which is an appearance.

Do you think McDermott reaches into the bag of tricks this week?

I think Joe Brady will have a good game plan for this one- has probably been working on it for a couple weeks as Denver was our most likely opponent and he already had some Miami stuff. Samuel will get some use as they’ll focus on Cooper. Not a ton, as the scheme will continue the everyone eats philosophy. Allen runs will return to the forefront as they’ve been under wraps the last few weeks and much of the season. My guess is those are reserved mostly for playoffs these days. Should be interesting.

Dan Orlovsky stated that the Broncos defense is weakest when their LB's are in pass coverage and when the defense is stretched at the second level. I suspect that in addition to the RB's being very involved in the passing game (similar to how they were in the Lions game) that the Bills offense is going to try and use Samuel as a gadget player to laterally stretch the field with his speed.

Samuel could make an impact, for sure, given the weekly gameplan distribution we've seen when Brady is really scheming. He's almost due, by that logic.

Looks to this fan, however, like OC Brady has success scheming space for RBs primarily, TEs secondarily, and WRs tertiarily. Samuel might have some opportunities to line up in places other than out wide. But there are certain OCs, McVay being at the top, who can/choose to scheme/motion/design separation specifically for WRs.

Daboll had some aptitude there in Buffalo. Got Diggs BUNCHES of targets against a bunch of opponents. But then had issues maintaining that advantage against super physical, aggressive secondaries (especially in the postseason). Brady is better poised, in my opinion, to adjust and persist, due to less reliance upon a hierarchy of target share. Possibly, this includes Samuel.

It would be funny if the Bills ultimate chess move was to have Samuel play subpar on purpose in the regular season and then unleash him in the playoffs with a wide variety of ways to get him the ball in space.

Yeaaaaa I’m not sure how much he’ll even see the field. My prediction is that Cooper’s snap count dramatically improves and between him Shakir Hollins Coleman and how much they love 12 personnel and 6 OL.

I see him in the 10-12 snap range. If he is to make an impact it’ll be a big play moment as he won’t have the volume to otherwise make much noise.

That said, in his limited injury riddled opportunities this season he has not really done anything more than you’d expect from a WR4 or 5

I highly doubt that’ll change now.

I agree with this entire response.

Why change what's not broken if you don't have to. He will likely see a low snap counts and if he gets any targets the will likely be within 3 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Agreed.  He will finally fulfill our yearning to get Spiller in space.

If they are going to spy Josh it will stretch that second level defense even more. Hopefully we can take advantage of some matchups.

He is the 4th receiver. Probably the 6th target if you include the TE's. Even 7th if you include RB's. So, no, I don't think he'll have much of an impact.

I don't see him suddenly being an impact player.  he's just that kind of WR.  he's good for a dink and dunk/checkdown.

they don't need Samuel to be the guy Sunday...

If he's right, he could but I don't think he's been right all season.

He had a game here or there where he looked good in spots, but I think his injuries have basically removed his greatest ability.  Hope he's actually better now tho.

He seems to playing better than did earlier in the season, I could see him get 3-4 catches and possibly a short distance TD.

Would love to see him in the old McKenzie role, especially against a team that plays a lot of man coverage - but as others have noted, that's unlikely and he won't see a ton of snaps

I don’t see it man. It’s a bit wild to me how uninvolved he’s been the entire season - I was expecting his best season yet, maybe approaching 800-900yds receiving. That being said, it’s a testament to how well this offense is run, that no single player (other than Allen) determines its success.

Cooper doesn’t play? Doesn’t matter.
kincaid out? Doesn’t matter.
Samuel rarely contribute? Doesn’t matter.
Cook doesn’t play? Doesn’t matter.

Not to derail it into an MVP discussion,  but we know who the constant is in this offense. Brady and Allen have both been outstanding.
