Draconator Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I'm watching KCAL out of LA. They're currently doing live shots in Altadena, just one house after another up in flames. No fire trucks around because the fires are so massive. Hoping all those who lost their homes got loves ones, including pets, out safely. Speaking from experience after a fire, you can replace material items. 1 Quote
Augie Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I lived in hurricane territory for 30 years. They can be awful and devastating, but I was never as terrified as I would be from those fires. That is just awful, but hopefully it’s all property damage with minimal harm to people. Quote
Boatdrinks Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Vegas stadium should be available , or Arizona . 1 Quote

A few years ago his (problem) child and my Goddaughter burned the house to the ground about 2am. Fortunately, the mom is a light sleeper and they got everyone out of the house. They lost everything except a car in the driveway. They now live in a beautiful new home built to their liking, and everyone is accounted for except for one very, very old cat they were on the fence about. You go out and shop for………………EVERYTHING. I hope he had his wallet, or else you have a new set of problems. 1 Quote
Buffalo Boy Posted January 8 Posted January 8 My cousin and his wife have a condo in PP. They had to get out and stay with their daughter in Simi Valley. He has no idea if he even has a building and doesn’t expect to get in there for a day or two. They said it looks like a war is happened on the other side of the hills. Quote
chongli Posted January 8 Posted January 8 The game belongs in Minnesota, but that will never happen. Quote
ticketssince61 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) SOFI is pretty far from the fires and the game is in over 5 days so I don't think there would be an issue. Edited January 8 by ticketssince61 Quote
HomeskillitMoorman Posted January 8 Posted January 8 California and Florida have some similar issues where people are having a hard time getting their homes insured because they're in these fire and hurricane territories. That's gotta be really scary too. Quote
JGMcD2 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) I don’t get it, they have a roof… just go inside. At least that’s what certain people say here about the snow… Seriously hope everyone is okay. Edited January 8 by JGMcD2 Quote

It’s covered but not enclosed from the air, smoke, etc. Watching KCAL coverage is distressing; even the reporters were getting emotional walking through the neighborhoods. 26TrapDraw Posted January 8 Posted January 8 The whole situation is a cluster F I live up north from it. Firefighters can’t do their jobs. This state I swear. A picture of efficiency let me tell you. 1 1 1 1 Quote

I live north of that and the wind has been brutal the last 2 days and made it spread so fast it's a nightmare situation for sure Quote
CA OC Bills Fan Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I live in south Orange County which is a bit closer to LA than to San Diego. No fires near my house now but the winds are really bad from what my wife is telling me (I'm in Alabama for work this week and going from here to Rochester to go to the game on Sunday). My wife told me that my Bills flag was blown off of the flag pole rod it's on and the pole is completely bent from the winds. I asked if she at least was able to retrieve my flag, she did. But, she added, "Before you ask, I'm NOT going to get on a ladder and try to take care of your flag in these winds." See picture below. That's the only damage we have. 3 Quote

SoCal Deek Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I live about 15 miles from the Pacific Palisades. The fire is nowhere near SoFi stadium. Not even close. Quote
