BillsDad51 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) Per PFT: NFL is monitoring wildfire situation in Los Angeles ahead of Monday Rams-Vikings wildcard game. League watching proximity of blazes to stadium, as well as air quality, which may force league to move game. Can't postpone since it's Monday night. Edited January 8 by BillsDad51 2 1 Quote

These fires are no joke, I completely get them looking at it... my sister in law ran from Paradise CA during those fires to blazes on either side of the road.. lucky to make it out. Then of course there is breathing... like they need to do that as well... 2 3 2 1 1 Quote
Gregg Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Hope everyone who is dealing with these fires can get somewhere safe and hopefully no damage to their properties. 1 5 Quote
BillsDad51 Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 Agree. Not making a joke of it. Wildfires a deadly fact of life in California. Never thought they would impact a large Metro area like this and force NFL to consider possibility of moving a game. 1 1 Quote

DrBob806 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 They should move it to Cleveland or Chicago. The NFL set precedent by moving Buffalo-Cleveland to a dome. Now move 2 dome teams to the elements!! 1 1 2 2 Quote

I'll put it out there, I think they should just plan to move the game to Arizona now, while they can do so with advance planning and get everything right. It's not gonna be a home field advantage for the Rams if they can't breathe, and given the geography of LA I don't see how the air quality can help being terrible. 4 Quote
WotAGuy Posted January 8 Posted January 8 It’s amazing to see how far offshore the smoke from those fires is going - hundreds of miles. Quote
boyst Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) Listen to the scanners for LA FD if you want to hear reality. Checking on people to looters, etc. It's wild. Not as bad as the Hurricane for chaos but it's still very messy. https://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/829 Edited January 8 by boyst 1 Quote
Mark Vader Posted January 8 Posted January 8 The Santa Ana winds down there are unforgiving. Seeing these blazes is just awful. God help all of those affected by this. 2 2 Quote

Taro Nimbus Posted January 8 Posted January 8 They should move the game to Cincinnati, so they can get a playoff game! But seriously, it’s bad out there in LA. Hope people can stay safe. 1 Quote
BearNorth Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Since they are both dome teams, moving it to Arizona might make the most sense, keep the time zone advantage for the 4 seed Rams 2 Quote
dollars 2 donuts Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I've seen fires and I've seen fires. ...but I have never seen anything like this. So terrible. 3 Quote
Big Turk Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) Crazy this is happening in January...apparently California wildfire season is year round now and they have 78 more "fire days"(where weather is conducive for wildfires) every year than 50 years ago. https://calmatters.org/explainers/california-wildfire-season-worsening-explained/ Edited January 8 by Big Turk 1 Quote

The only thing probably stopping this from already happening is the owner probably wants all of that revenue. Quote
