tomur67 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Not that stats are the most important thing, but it is a thing. According to Buffalo's stats Trubisky appeared in 9 games. I wonder how many quarters Josh is sitting on the bench because they didn't need to or want to run up the score. How many more TD's or more total yards would Josh have had? Quote
ScotSHO Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I've seen an estimate of approx. 2 games for lost playing time. Take Josh's averages for 2024 and add 2 more games worth of output to the totals? 1 Quote

So look at Lamar's stats and, if Josh had continued at the same level, he would have been around those figures. 1 Quote

He sat for the entire 4th quarter against Jacksonville, Baltimore, San Francisco, and the second New York Jets game. He sat for half of the 4th quarter against Seattle and essentially the entire second New England Game. Trubinsky also took the kneel downs against Indianapolis and Miami but Josh took all of the meaningful snaps in those games. Quote
tomur67 Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago (edited) You're probably correct if you average it out, but if you consider the times when Josh was benched, it was when the Bills were totally dominating the other team and Josh's TD's and yardage would have probably doubled. jaybeezee Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) How much better would Josh's stats be if we played in a Dome? Just look at his stats when he plays in a dome, outside of Houston for some reason! Edited 14 hours ago by jaybeezee Quote

The average NFL offense has 63 snaps per game. 2 1 Quote

If Josh lost an equivalent of 2x games lost, and then dividing 41 Total TDs by 15 games of actual playing time, he averaged 2.73 TDs per game. Thus taking 2.73 TDs multiplied by the 2x games of lost playing time, that would equate to plus/minus another 5.46 TDs. So, in simple terms probably around 46-47 TDs. Applying the same logic to passing/rushing yards would have been around 4228 passing and 602 rushing yards. Note: That's if the 2x games of lost playing time were circumstantially competitive as noted below by Mr. WEO. Edited 13 hours ago by Lieutenant Aldo Raine Quote

Before the final game, Trubisky attempted 4 passes in 5 blowouts (only in 1 of them did he take more than 15% of snaps). Had they left Josh in those games, there's no reason to believe they would be asking him to pass any more than Trubisky did---just run out the clock. So Josh would had had little, if anything, to add to his stats in any of those games if he played them out. That leaves only the final game, in which case he might have had another couple of TDs before they switched to runs to end the game.. All in all, not much different. Quote

There were also plenty of games where Allen was essentially handing the ball off most of the 2nd half since they had big leads even when he was playing like in the first Dolphin game. Quote

How many more TD's or more total yards would Josh have had? Likely very little as even he played to the final gun, the majority of the time he's just been handing the ball off to Davis. Trubisky and White threw 37 passes all season and 32 of them were this past week. So 5 other passes were thrown. Even if you assume they'd have had Allen throw more, maybe 10 passes instead and completed 7 , maybe 100 yards more. If you change the title to How much better would Josh Allens stats be if the Bills played 17 nail biters cause the team sucks then you may see significantly higher numbers, otherwise, very little difference Quote
tomur67 Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Or, if like a few other teams, Buffalo chooses to leave the starters in the game and continue to run up the score. Quote
