I think the idiot’s rants on Canada and Greenland are about his strategy to destroy NATO. Offend the NATO allies so much to make the international politics toxic and destroy the relations moving forward.

Not this "he wants to destroy NATO" crap again.

And Greenland?

It sounded like Greenland was lumped in with the PC which is why it sounded like he meant he would use force to obtain Greenland as well.

I provided measures California has taken, which are verifiable.  You claimed they were negligent, and only had forest fires, because of that.  I was hoping you'd provide evidence of the culling done in other states, which makes California so negligent.  Apparently, resilience is removal of vegetation, but I'm no expert and am not claiming to be.

Define research?  I had assumed it was looking up facts.  Again, it doesn't matter where it's from or who said it if it's a verifiable fact.  Personally, I'm not happy they spent all that money on protecting homes built in suspect areas, but I'm not a Cali resident, so not my money.

You all are in a stupid argument about what Cal did or didn’t do. The fires are burning residential areas. Forest cleaning isn’t the issue with fires in this area. Nothing is stopping fires with winds as strong as they have had. Air support can’t fly due to the winds. Storm intensity is fueling fire intensity combined with drought. If people want to live on top of each other in those areas, they should eliminate all burnable vegetation in yards and along streets and have non burnable roofs that don’t catch fire when embers land on them.

There isn't enough water in Cali, turning even residential areas into tinder boxes.

Meanwhile, state environmental regulations prevents heavy water storage  pumping for two weeks following storms. To protect an endangered fish species.

They are literally letting trillions of gallons of fresh water run off into the ocean because some fish could be harmed by the pumps that store the water. Water than could be used for farming and you know, residential watering to avoid turning LA into a tinderbox.

I am truly not sure how to respond to this because if you can look at Cali who spent a record amount to end homelessness and got more, spent 24 billion on a train for 1 mile of track, and now doesn't have water for the hydrants but expect me to show you how Cali is incompetent, I can't get to a bar higher than what is easily present. Almost all States have large forest but none have the continuous issues of Cali, the fact that you are defending thr lack of progress because of politics is on you.

I am not arguing this one in particular because until it is over we won't know if it arson, or something preventable. The argument I am having is why Cali is annually in this situation. The State is not doing enough to prevent fires in general. If the State did it's job 90% of fires would not start out there

I find it entertaining that you chide someone about Fox News (a tired and childish ploy) and then state “here are some things I found” which are actually just cut and pasted from Gavin Newsome’s .gov website. Why not just link to it? That you proceed to swallow the gov.ca.gov propaganda whole is another interesting situation. Very impressive research you’ve done. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻

Just idiot responses which is exactly what I would expect from you. The burden is on your dumb ass to prove him wrong. You can't so sit down and shut up.

More can always be done. More should be done. The cost to live in high risk areas like fire prone environments or coastal hurricane vulnerable areas should go up. The rest of society shouldn’t have to fund the insurance and recovery for these types of events. If only there were scientists who could have told us that these types of events would be more likely to happen…. hmmm.

Fed treating Trump like the unstable non-genius that he is

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/01/08/fed-minutes-january-2025.html

“Almost all participants judged that upside risks to the inflation outlook had increased,” the minutes said. “As reasons for this judgment, participants cited recent stronger-than-expected readings on inflation and the likely effects of potential changes in trade and immigration policy.”

FOMC members voted to lower the central bank’s benchmark borrowing rate to a target range of 4.25%-4.5%.

However, they also reduced their outlook for expected cuts in 2025 to two from four in the previous estimate at September’s meeting, assuming quarter-point increments. The Fed cut a full point off the funds rate since September, and current market pricing is indicating just one or two more moves lower this year. Traders are assigning a nearly 100% chance that the FOMC will stand pat at its Jan. 28-29 meeting, according to the CME Group’s FedWatch gauge.

Minutes indicated that the pace of cuts ahead indeed is likely to be slower.

“In discussing the outlook for monetary policy, participants indicated that the Committee was at or near the point at which it would be appropriate to slow the pace of policy easing,” the document said.

Nice piece

Charlie Kirk, a key Trump ally who joined Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., on a trip to Greenlandthis week, argued on his podcast Wednesday that it was imperative for the U.S. to control Greenland. The island is an autonomous territory of Denmark, a longtime U.S. ally and a founding NATO member.

Beyond the country’s strategic location in the Arctic and its rich resources, Kirk said, “there is this other component. It makes America dream again, that we’re not just this sad, low-testosterone, beta male slouching in our chair, allowing the world to run over us.”

I am home and perfectly sober. But I’ve gotten to really like mojitos and now know how to make them. Should be good to watch the game with Sunday.   Need to get both light and dark rum. The type of mint the Cubans use will have to be fudged.

meanwhile, you can practice your masculine goose stepping.
